I ordered for pickup at Apple at 9 on Friday and also from Telus as an upgrade to be shipped. I am thinking I will keep whichever I get first. I have heard of carriers shipping out a day in advance in the past so we will see. If I end up keeping the Apple store one, I will just return the Telus one and revert back to my original plan (as long as they let me).

I think Blue will be the most common colour this year being new. That's what I ordered.

The green was a great color. Nice to have one interesting one with each pro model.

Anyone have input on the watch? Wondering between silver aluminum and space grey, if it is scuffed/nicked, I am guessing the silver would be hard to see but the space grey would show silver underneath the coating?

No issues with the space grey after a year. I’m pretty careful with it but it’s definitely taken a few bumps and not shown any wear.

I do have an iPhone X but I thought, there's enough hardware upgrade on the phone to highly consider it. Will keep my appointment on Friday and hoping to watch actual reviews in Youtube before that day (I am hoping).

Some demo/hands on videos are coming out and MagSafe isn't looking very good. Magnets aren't that strong and you can't charge through a case and the MagSafe wallet attachment.

Actually, same thing that I thought when they said something about MagSafe in their keynote... It might be the main failure of this phone; and selling it with just lightning to USB-C cable (although that's an easier fix). I will wait for Marques' full review (and other reviewers) and decide before picking this one up on Friday. I won't be surprised if this product fails because of that MagSafe and that the next iPhone will probably won't have that feature anymore lol.

Ninja edit: Although I must say, I don’t use wireless charging as much so it may not matter to me at all.

If rumor is to be believed, Magsafe is Apple's new Lightning to keep that money train going for Apple. They won't go USB-C. They will just get rid of all ports and uses Magsafe/NFC for charging and UWB/BT/Wifi for data.

Also Dolby Vision HDR recording is a newer version and Apple only standard for now and only works on iPhone and iPad. It won't play with current Dolby Vision certified panels.

That makes sense. Thanks for the youtube link.

In my Bell portal is says an email will be sent when it's shipped. I was on pretty early, so hoping to get one Friday and if not, then it would be next week for sure.

They had to remove a discount, so I need to call back in when my phone arrives for them to adjust it.

Dunno for some reason I remember thinking that I read somewhere in the past that the pre-orders carrier phones arrived a day earlier than the official release date on Apple Store.

Wireless qi chargers will still work, but only at 7.5w. I believe you need magsafe chargers to get 15w.

Battery life is not looking great compared to last year but this is just one test so far:

Not really surprising since 5G and a higher resolution display are going to higher power demand over the previous generation. As long as the phone gets through the day without needing a charge, I'm happy.
