Having moved through the betas I can say 18.0 was considerably worse for battery drain then 18.1 has been. On 18 I would be around 20-25% before bed and on 18.1 I’m 40+ or at least have been the last few weeks on the same type of usage.

Is it because I'm IOS noob that I don't have enough baggage to make the upgrade slow? My upgrade has been the opposite, it's runs slightly faster and battery life is the same.

Had a chance to play with the satellite iMessaging today. Works very well. The notch on the phone screen has an arrow showing which way you need to face for connection, turns green once connected. Chatting back and forth is only delayed by a couple of seconds, but the extra features button stays greyed out for sending photos or emojis / gifs or whatever kink you’re into. No satellite dick pics, media only enabled for SOS calls.

Battery life on 16 pro very good so far though wish they still had those terrible leather cases as I hate this silicone one but wanted one with the camera button transfer pad thing.

I guess I ended up getting the 16 Pro Max. Wasn't planning to but my mom needed to upgrade her XS Max as it was crapping a bit so gave her my 15 Pro Max and it gave me an excuse to get the 16 Pro Max for myself. There was apparently only one in black that was available in Alberta yesterday so I lucked out into it as I didn't make any reservations beforehand. Other than that side bar button, which I haven't used yet, there's not a whole lot different.

I tried the Vision Pro demo yesterday. It’s actually quite impressive compared to the various VR that I have at home in terms of immersion. The resolution is way higher than everything else, and it can mix in real world environment made it pretty comfortable to use. Wasn’t blown away at the cinema view, although 3d movies do look great on it. What blew me away was the immersion video, watching the nba all stars game court side felt like I was sitting courtside. Tightrope scene was crazy, felt a bit jarring looking down and felt so real. Alicia keys singing in front of me felt like she was there.

One of the best vr demos I’ve seen by a huge margin. Just need real content to support it. If any of the pro sports can pull off immersive video for the whole season, I’m buying one. Game changer to watch sports as immersion videos.

Interesting thread on the effect of limiting your charging to 80% for a year. Basically makes a fart in the wind of difference.

Use your battery to the max, if you get enough use of the phone to chew through the battery. Buying a new one is cheap enough.
