Apple TV+

Pros: Finally good high quality 4K HDR TV show content. First TV shows that looks this good visually. Great job Apple.

Cons: Shows are a bit of a snooze fest.

Honestly, forgot this was launching. Waiting for the real MVP (Disney+).

Learned 2 things. They're not "audiophile" earbuds - they're airpods with a better seal and ANC to give better sound. Tiny batteries mean they will be disposable around 2 years time. Kinda changes my perspective for a high end TW earbud purchase.

Yea, definitely not audiophile earbuds, but it's also more than AirPods with a seal. Somewhere in between. I played around with the EQ settings, and it actually sounds much better with the Rock profile with ANC on. YMMV.

More "not used to these fuckers" issues. With the shorter stem, it's more difficult to line up and drop in the case for some reason. I've also dropped it taking it out of the case because it's not as easily handled as the non pros. Even with the biggest silicone, I'm still having a hard time having them fully seal and stay fully sealed. So I only get optimal bass response for like 5 mins before I need to push them in to reseal. Mediums barely seal, and small never seal. I guess I got a big ear hole lol.

Marvel TV shows. Star Wars TV shows. There's a ton of original content, and highly desirable with just those 2 properties.

I've been slowly buying 4K HDR versions of Disney films, wouldn't have to anymore if I just get this service. I spent more on completing the MCU movies in 4K HDR as it would cost me to sub to Disney Plus for 4 years haha.

Yea Disney is a no brainer, their exclusive content is must have. There really isn’t anything on apple that screams I need to subscribe to me.

There is already enough good shit on prime and Netflix I don’t have time to watch lol.

I still use my first gen Airpods but since the battery lasts less than an hour, picked up the pro and here are my thoughts.

Pro:
- sounds great, better bass and detail
- comfortable
- cool ANC, transparency functions

Cons:
- tough to get out of the case, need to dig into the small gap to pry it out.
- bit of a hassle to get a good seal, especially when needing to get it out fast and putting it on properly.
- more looseness and play with the case cap, gen 1 is solid. Is it just mine? Don't think Jony Ive would approve of the opening and closed feel of the case.
- I use one side most of the time and rotate so pretty much never run out of power, but it feels weird to have a seal on one side, therefore Transparency function works well to hear properly but I don't feel like having it on and draining battery constantly if it's in my ear.
-I suspect these small batteries will degrade rather quickly like other Airpods with daily use and I would almost never use the ANC function later just to save power.

Overall it's nice with the ANC but I have Beats Studio 3 and Bose QC35 if I really need it without worrying battery levels. I might pick up Airpods 2 as its so easy and fast to take it out and put it on without needing to fiddle with proper seal and still can somewhat listen to people with it on. Airpods 2 with ANC would be cool but I guess it will never happen as traditional ear buds don't isolate exterior sound to give that complete ANC experience... kinda disappointed.

I’m a one side user as well for longer calls. You can’t turn on ANC with just one side. Off or transparency only.

Yes! I still have my iPhone X and just got a free 1 year trial for TV+ lol. I had to exchange my phone a month ago due to battery issues and yeah, got the trial lol.

So I replaced my 8 with a Xs (512gb lol).

Fuck i miss the home button. I don't care about the added real estate. Also, is there a way to use ApplePay, without doing that stupid fucking double click?

Once you get used to no home button you will realize how much better it is.

I still hate the double click to Apple Pay. Not intuitive. I've learnt to live with it though. Other than that, don't miss the home button at all.

If your contract is up you should be able to get an 8 for next to nothing. Shit even if you dont want a new phone get it anyways and sell it, ill bet an 8 brand new is still worth 500 if not more, that'll cover years of battery replacements on the 6 lol
