I mean I think it’s an education license. They don’t do much to verify, quick look at student ID has been good enough for me in store. Online I think an email is good enough.

Haha honestly doing chores outside is pretty much the only time I use headphones or when traveling. So I always though it was a waste to get the Pro's when I have regular ones that barely get used as it is (among other over the ear ones). But having used these once, I immediately regretted not buying them sooner, haha. And it was a great deal for anyone interested $268 or something at Costco as opposed to the usual $330.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Still on the fence with the touch bar. Looks cool but mashing F5 on trade deadline day isn't going to be the same without a physical key.

Does the Touch Bar replace all the fkeys?
For some reason I thought it was supplementary above those keys. Could get in the way of my spreadaheeting (although cmd-T drives me up the wall haha )

Out of curiosity, is iMovie running on the MBA on the ARM architecture already? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I imagine once some of this software is developed for ARM, there's potential for a bit more of a performance bump when it starts using the native architecture.
I wish Apple's software can replace LR/Luminar for me.
Ok...if I go with MBA, is gold too ghey? It's easy to spot. I can't seem to find a conclusive review where the extra 100 nits on the MBP is that much better. The extra cost is to essentially buy the brighter screen, a cooling fan, and a little bit more battery life.

There's only checks if you buy in store. There's no checks if even if you purchase online and pick up in store. For checks in store, a screenshot of anyone's U of C logged in screen is enough. Basically, Apple doesn't check hard at all. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yes, iMovie is ARM already. Pretty much all the native Apple apps are on ARM at launch. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My own experience. Bought an iPad last year on student discount for pickup online. They checked ID.

As much as I like deals. I think I'm going to opt out of the FCP bundle.

Yeah copy paste isn't so bad to get used to on Macs. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Biggest issue for me is the way the home and end keys work. On Windows home/end goes to beginning or end of current line but on Macs it goes to top or bottom of whatever page you are on in the browser.

Something I have been pondering. Wtf happens with all these bring it back phone lease phones?
I’ll bet you take up on the programs is high, lower up front cost and lower monthly costs at 0% financing. Why bother with any other plan.
But there must just be warehouses of these old phones sitting somewhere, you can’t honestly tell me Telus et al is selling every one they get back in as refurbished for a few dollars a month less than a new next gen phone costs.
Apple has had iPhone upgrade going for years in the states, where are all these phones going?
International markets?
Just my continual flabbergastedness at the prices of used cell phones these days.

They give them to a company to recycle (even if they are in good working order), but instead that company takes them and resells them for profit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Maybe apple has the device margins to pull that off. But Telus and Rogers? No way they are making $500+ Margins per new phone on trade to be able to shred the ones they are getting back.

Copy and Paste - ring finger on CMD, middle on C, index on V.
Undo/Cut/Select All/Save/Quit/Close Window/New Tab - thumb on CMD, index on Z/X/A/S/Q/W/T
Opening up a private/incognito browser - left thumb on CMD, ring finger on shift, right index on P/N
Never thought about it until now and I actually had to slow down and watch how I shortcut.
Of course, this is all thrown out of wack when you use a windows keyboard on a Mac.
