I'll be really interested to see how this turns out.

There is almost no way this can live up to the previous gen, IMO.
    1) Halo status of the old Supra is hard to top.

    2) Sedans are in mid 4s now, 0-60. It will be hard to stand out unless you drop under 4s for a sports car.

The original supra was in the $50-$80K range if I recall. Since this one shares with Z4, I would assume it will not break $90 in 2018. So in a way it's probably a good deal.

At least it still has an inline 6.... even if it's not Japanese.

Toyota is such a large company it's just a shame they have to depend on BMW and Subaru to build their only sporty models. This is what happens when bean counters run the company.

For the last 5-8 years, Toyota has been focused on making “transportation appliances” and not actual fun to drive cars. That’s why they sub it all out to other manufacturers.

    FTFY

Although I'd say that's what's made them incredibly successful. If Tesla would do this, they'd make money hand over fist.

The fact they green lit GT86 and new Supra is a feat on itself.

Sport cars don't put food on table.

Want to see what's left are Toyota bits, rumor could be hybrid bits.

Agreed, it was great they actually went through with the GT86. It's like this generation's integra/SiR (I would hope at least. If I was in high school I'd be all over one of those).

Yah. I'll add this model to the selection for my upcoming mid-life crisis. Quite a wide variety of sport coupes to choose from.

My first impression is this is a big letdown.
Perhaps it will grow on me once I see it in person.

    I like it.

Rumours said as low as 3300lbs, and up to 400hp.

This is in a prestigious class of Entry Porsche’s, pony cars, and a variety of other Germans.

Rear looks great, front end is meh. I'm sure it will look different in person as well. Hopefully it comes with a proper engine for the "Supra" legacy.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Looks better in the video vs. the leaked photos. Might look even better in person, tempting as I really need a 6th car I don't have time to drive.
