"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

When speaking of family travel perfection, it might be a Ridgeline.

Ok, granted, the Porsche and Trackhawk are nice, but you're a long ways off from family travel perfection.

Took my wife’s filthy family hauler to the golf course today. Parked next to a jellybean someone is trying to pass off as a car.

Haha calm your tits. It’s just a replica, albeit a nice one. Belongs to the owner of contemporary coachworks, and it’s arguably the worst car in his collection by a wide margin.

I don’t really understand replicas. Especially when they have real logos on them…

Maybe for a movie where they are going to blow it up or something? But to drive to the golf course? That’s weird.

I agree. And he told me this one cost like $150k to build. To each, their own, I guess.

He also has an F40 (not a replica haha), so who am I to judge.

It's also what do you consider a replica for these speedsters and other 356's variants? It will cost you 70-100k to get a matching serial for the body and engine, and you'll still need to replace everything. Is that a replica since all the body panels have been swapped, interior gutted and replaced, etc? They are stupidly expensive to build up from scratch; I spent a bunch of time looking into it as a project car and it was just a never-ending money pit. Sure, I get paying for one with a Subaru engine that's more reliable and basically a kit car, but to actually source an authentic one is brand new 911 money (plus 2 years in labour).

If it’s 100% a Porsche underneath and all parts are Porsche then no that’s not a replica that’s a restoration.

If it’s an LS engine on a go cart frame with some similar looking body panels that’s a replica.
