Rented a 2018 M3 Competition to drive the road to Hana. Decided to loop the island and continue past Hana on the south loop as well (4x4 or Jeep not needed). I think I enjoyed the south leg more then the drive out.
I like neat cars.
What rental service did you use? Turo? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

After the shitty pavement and gravel there is a phenomenal, narrow, paved road.

Yeah I've driven that road before. Of all the good driving roads I've been on, that one was one of the better ones (as long as you aren't stuck behind a tourist). The locals hustle, and are really good at getting out of the way if you're faster.
Yup, I had locals in pickup trucks pulling over to let me pass them……. While on gravel. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Not as interesting as adding turbo's, but it's a nice little change.
I know, I know. It needs a wash. Maybe today before the snow files.

This is awesome. I always dreamed of owning a v10 m5 as a 3rd or 4th car. Unless the used car market every goes back to normal looks like that will be a permanent dream now. Enjoy! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That's probably a wise position for one. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I had two thoughts on owning one
#1 - You don't want it to be anything close to your main commuter
#2 - Id something goes wrong you probably want some time to wrench on it yourself, basically the last thing you ever want is to have to rush these cars into a shop
How was Turo? Was thinking of using it for SFO instead of the usual rentals. Do you return and pick up at the airport? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

First time using it, pick up and drop off vary by car and owner. There can be an additional fee related to this depending on how the owner is setup. This guy brought the M3 straight to me at our VRBO for an extra $30 or so.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
