Thought I would play along, never posted in this thread before. I picked this car up back in October and meant to post about it but never did. I was in the market for a new car when the TLX lease was up, and was committed to not make the same mistake again (buying for pure practicality, both in $ and in experience). I was really hellbent on getting a 2013+ GS350, or a LS460. Looked for what felt like a year and nothing came up in the spec that I wanted (exec package with a non boring color combo). In the summer, I was killing time and went over to the Audi dealership where they had a 2011 160k Cayenne S for sale. I always loved this gen of Cayenne, and thought I would take it for a spin. I was truly impressed. The car felt so solid, so well put together and I loved the interior with all the buttons.
Unfortunately the S has some assorted issues, and running costs are a bit high. So I decided that I would look for a Diesel. The compromise being that if I was going to buy a German car... it has to have some economical positives. I reached out to every dealership in the country, and really tried to get a few to reach out to their customers. Porsche doesn't really roll like that... and quite a few just gave me the... "oh you want to buy a sub-30k car..., that's neat...." treatment (including Calgary). The guy in Edmonton was pretty friendly and their volumes are actually pretty high. Sure enough October rolls around and he gave me a call saying that he was expecting a trade in, and it wasn't Black or White! Also, it was well specced (which in the used market, you are really at the mercy of the the prior owner). Sure enough it came in, and since the car had the "fix" recently, it had a factory warranty till 2023. Lots of positives, and, sure enough, I went for it.
I love the car. Its super practical, and the fuel economy is excellent (highway ~6.5L/100km, city is generally under 10), and since it has lots of low end torque (higher than any Cayenne other than the Turbo), its super fun to drive. Its NOT fast, which is fine - but it shockingly handles so well. The only materially annoying "con", is that the infotainment takes about 20 seconds to find my phone whenever I get in... so I have to switch my music every time I get into the car. I worked around this by loading the "jukebox" with as high fidelity AAC as it could handle, and actually it works well (and sounds far better).
I actually wanted to post this as a shout out to Bob (and his team) at UrbanX for setting up my 'non-winter' set up. I was looking for a second set of rims, and although they are from a previous gen, the Sport Techno rims are my favorite wheel to ever come on a Cayenne. I found one at a reasonable price, and jumped on it. I am very happy. Their team was super professional, fast, and really did a great job. Highly recommend them.
Also, secondary shout out to Sneek (beyond member), who spent a Saturday helping correct my swirled paint. I have fallen down the detailing rabbit hole now, which has been enjoyable, as after I sold the lexus, I kind of stopped caring..
Anyways, a picture or two "everyday" shots (one after I changed the wheels yesterday), and another from an outing last week.

I know this totally isn't why you bought the car, and would probably make it not the funnest car in your fleet... but you should totally do this:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
disclaimer: I hate stanced cars, and this is too low... but something almost like this. It really turns my crank. This guy actually has it on air and tows his boat with it and stuff. More practical and way cooler than those gay VIP cars.
Who needs a truck anyways, cargo space baby!

Every version of rhe crown Vic is cool. I've seen one with mud tires, it was cool. This lowered one, that's cool. Stock? Cool. Stock civilian grandpa one in baby-sky-blue? Cool.

Not planning too much else for it other than maybe some K02 for rally x/winter and maybe just maybe a professional detail because it still feels a bit gross inside. Great Beater Challenge got postponed for a year so will be hanging onto it as a beater/racer/daily when my truck is down. I have another big plan for it as well that I hope to attempt.
