Surprisingly, this D2 S8 has been my least expensive Audi to own and run. My B5 S4 is wayyyyy more work to keep on the road. Plus, it's the last of the timing belt V8's and 1990's tech is easy to navigate. Realistically it's the only S8 you can run on a plebian budget. No carbon cleaning, no timing chains, simple electronics and maintenance is easy. All aluminum = no rust. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
You're dropping the motor to do o2 sensors on a D3, and I can't imagine what a D4 is like for maintenance...
Would you believe the manual swap was $1200 in labour? Not bad... Losing the automatic drops the weight down to ~3800lbs - lighter than an E39 M5.
Hoping to get this kind of money for it once it's finished:

Business in the front, party in the back.
I had my annual detail and service done at Porsche this week. They loaned me a red Taycan GTS for two days that was a thrill to drive, with just flat out incredible acceleration and handling. I think the Sport Turismo version may be my next but I still want to explore more fully the Tesla Performance X and Y models.
Taycan is sick car.
Heard this ramen place was beyond recommended and have been meaning to go for ages.

It made my food page.
Drive a M2 to the rub and tug then fill up on noodles. That’s living.
Cruising around this afternoon with my two girls. Other then a Trackhawk, not sure if there is a better family car.
I like neat cars.
Ok, granted, the Porsche and Trackhawk are nice, but you're a long ways off from family travel perfection. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
