I'm not a race car driver with extensive quantities of track time, and that's the case with most car guys. Additionally, no one is driving their performance car to the handling limits that it was designed for on a public road and rarely to the limits on the track. More often then not, on a public road, the guy who is taking corners at the highest speed probably has the biggest balls or highest skill level, and the performance of the car is not the limiting factor.
Acceleration on the other hand, is something that the average driver can experience to the limits of the cars capabilities.... floor the gas and keep it straight. This is a much safer method of dick measuring on a public road then turning Highwood Pass into a race track.
I like neat cars.

Since I have a lot of time on my hands these days (laid off last month), I decided to go for a little drive today. Went to Bragg Creek then on to Millarville via 762. Continued down to Turner Valley, then on to Chain Lakes. Then went over to Nanton, then home again. Here's a couple of pics I took along the way:
