You gotta do what you gotta do my man, don't worry about what someone else might think. I think that thing is bad ass.
Thanks man, big project I'm sure. Gonna start looking for all the rust holes in the body and frame, hopefully nothing major.

Starting this winter project tonight, have someone coming Saturday to pickup old motor & transmission. Actually got decent money for the package too, all things considered.

I stay in touch with my M5s new owner on instagram, he beats the piss out of it (even more than I did) and it just keeps going.

I love gathering firewood. You should invite me, I'd probably come.

My first time… was on splitting duty cause I don’t have a saw… much sore. Also feel bad that I didn’t invite my future father-in-law, but I was already the tag along

Did you have clearing issues with 17s and Golf R brakes? Or is that with spacers?

Aftermarket 17’s fit no problem with mine. Are Golf R brakes bigger then a GTI? They don’t really look like anything special to me.

Aftermarket 17s fit on my R no problem too when I had it.

Motor / trans out and gone. Still waiting on parts from holley to show up so I'm kind of at a stand still to put new stuff in.

I also learned I really dislike working on a project like this in my garage that's poorly equipped to do so. Oh well, first world problems. Maybe I'll have a better equipped shop down the road.

Are you ever in Aspen? I saw a deleted X5 that I think was this color in Aspen Landing earlier in the year. It sounded like a cummins it was awesome.

Thanks, all! Was curious about it as I've only seen 18s on Golf R/S3 and only seen 17s on the A3 so not sure if there was any differences.

I definitely frequent the area, and mine makes fairly loud turbo noises

I definitely have not regretted buying my 335d, averaging 7.1L/100km hand calculated for the last year and it mostly hauls enough ass for a sedan for me.
