Agreed, it's a bit complicated at first because there is no limit in the options from which to choose. You have the ability to make a one of a kind car if you really want (think about that!!!
). I think first best to zoom out from that and pick a trim line/style of the model you like. That usually comes with a core set of appearance and/or performance options that you can then modify to your liking. But say starting for example from a base trim of whatever model and then optioning up is a fool's errand.
I think it's more than just a brand name, though I don't dispute that is a factor. For me, I'm impressed with the quality and drive each time I step into mine. Maybe my opinion would be different had I gone through so many cars like you, but that's not my reality.
