I actually change mine to Niagara falls in January.
But I just found one in Coutts in Nov. It would have been nice to get both done at the same time. Have to take the kid out of school. haha
Pretty much luck of the draw to find a cancellation.

16th February 2023 before an appointment is available at the consulate to get my L1B...nexus sounds like a cinch in comparison
Bring both kids to the first appointment, they'll probably process both even if you just have an appointment for one kid. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Do you have to go to the consulate because of your citizenship? I've always just done it at the airport on a trip down to the US. I have to get mine renewed next time I head down there for work. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yep, British passport otherwise I'd be in Kentucky right now lol
Welp... Submitted my nexus renewal today. We will see how long this takes.
Expires in December, so with the 1 year grace period I have ~16 months before this becomes a problem.
On the topic of interviews, do they interview most people for renewals?
If I was going to apply to get my daughter on nexus is now a good time or should I wait for my renewal to come in?

A friend of mine said they were doing virtual interviews now? Not sure if that's just renewals or what.
Probably worth submitting your kid right away. I will bet they processing time for new applications is still pretty long.
Virtual interview would be cool.

I still can't believe that this hasn't been resolved. Border services has made so much money on these applications that are stale because they won't provide a solution to the interviews and its all prepaid. I still can't find appointments except in the midwest. I also can't figure out why I need another interview for a renewal either

I can almost guarantee you your $50 fee doesn't even come close to covering what this program costs.

Just a data point. Renewed the wife's card on June 24th and the approval just came through. So about 90 days. No interview. Wonder how long the card will take.
Still can't find an interview for the kids in a reasonable amount of time. Trudeau should just let the CBP have guns. It's affecting my ease of travel.

I’m wondering if they will allow more renewals to squeak through with no interview considering the backlog

That is not necessarily a true statement. You quite often do need an interview for renewal, it’s ultimately discretionary. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I’ve known people who needed an interview and I have known people who haven’t needed them.

Those that had their renewals approved without interviews, have you changed addresses or stayed the same?
I moved 4 times since first receiving my card and didn't have an interview to renew. Just had to fill out a lot of address changes and timelines when I did the renewal. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
