No, you have to be eligible for the interview, it's just a way to bypass the wait time for the interview. I will probably be using that as I anticipate flying into Denver, Houston and Atlanta this spring.

Take a note that if you do wear contacts you should toss on your glasses for the interview for the biometrics scan.

Yes to both. But not all places have the new machines.

They do a iris scan on the interview to setup the profile.

Could have used the nexus card in Casper Wyoming this morning at 5:45am. Precheck line had zero people in it, which seems typical at these smaller airports where the security lines feel really slow.

Seems like you're flying a fair amount these days; how far are you from getting status with an airline? It won't help you at customs, but most airlines give you priority security at a certain status.

I don't fly as much as it probably seems, certainly not as much as some others on here. I just post about it every single time, so it seems like a lot. I am a very long way from status. There's a chance I reach it in 2020, especially if I end up doing a china trip or two, but for obvious reasons, those are on hold for months.
