Looking at doing flooring in garage. I'm leaning towards doing tile vs epoxy. Anyone on here used any of the garage flooring tile products (race deck, Swiss traxx, etc). Reviews, advice or any recommendations appreciated.

I'd be interested in hearing some reviews on this as well.
I have heard of people using Swiss Traxx and almost all the people I spoke with seem to love it. I don't have any personal experiences with it though. If I were to do something to my garage that is what I would most likely do as some of the stuff they have looks sweet.
my dad has some sort of tile, unsure which brand though. it is great stuff as long as it's down all the way across the whole garage.
if it's not, it slips and slides everywhere.
I just finished laying down Swisstrax in my garage yesterday.
For the most part it went smoothly, but there where some annoyances. The "official" instructions for laying it out was going to be a very large pain the the butt with the parts they had sent me. Turned out they missed some adapter rings. Got the adapter rings and discovered that they REALLY suck. So ended up doing it my own way. Not a big deal, but really annoying when you're all excited to have a fancy garage floor.
The good news, my 22x22 garage took about 2.5 hours to install, the stuff looks great, it's not slippery even with wet shoes. I went with mostly white, so the garage is WAY brighter than before I started. Any dirt seems to readily sweep off of the tiles, and I can always run a pressure washer or hose over it once a year to clean it.
Hope this helps some.
My old man used to have RaceDeck and it was garbage. Anytime the sun hit it, it would warp and lift up in spots, was slicker than snot on a doorknob if it was wet, and any oil or anything would stain it if not removed immediately.
...
I have Race Deck and dont really have any issues. You have to make sure you leave a gap all the way around or yes it will expand when it gets really hot and lift. The race deck flow through stuff is worth checking out too.
I did Epoxy in my double garage and tile in the single...Both look great after almost 24 months of use...The epoxy is much easier to clean and doesn't scratch like the tile I chose
My last garage I did the rubber inter-locking tiles. It didn't hold up like the hard surfaces of Epoxy and Tile, and found it very hard to clean.
Personally Go Epoxy...all in all best surface I have had in any of my garage's

You have in slab heating but no drain?
^^^^ Mine looks new after a quick wash.
Look just below the garage door, there is a 15 foot drain

How difficult is the prepping/cleaning for epoxy? I'm tempted to do mine too, but I hear it can be a real pain to put down properly
any good recommendations on epoxy flooring contractors? I'm not interested in DIY.

To be honest I don't think I've seen a do it yourself job come out looking as good or not lift.
I would pay a professional to do it. They spent half the day at least doing the prep work.Originally posted by yellowsnow

I ended up getting a polyaspartic coating in my garage, well worth the cost, very durable and easily wipes clean if you drip anything on it. I used Kevin @ Surface Master and he did a great job, comes with a 20 year warranty. He reduced his prices this year due to the downturn as well, so I found his pricing to be much more affordable than others I contacted. Spent over half of the day sanding and prepping the concrete prior to applying the coating as well as filling in any cracks. He also painted the concrete foundation walls in the garage with epoxy.

I wash the cars in the garage and all the soap goes into the grey water drains.

Thanks for the 14 years of LOLs. Govern yourselves accordingly and avoid uppercut reactions!

Between this and good prep - this is what I have heard as well.

Another for industrial grade epoxy. So easy to clean.
Interesting story, my new car showed up with a fucked up o ring in the oil pan plug, so it dripped hot new factory oil on this floor for a good day before I found out. 0 damage to the floor and clean up was a breeze.
Never sanded mine, just acid etch and put on the 100% solid epoxy, I think I did 3-4 thick coats. Holding up great after a year. I drop stuff, spill stuff, drag things across the floor. And with the 100% epoxy you can just give the top coat a light sanding and reapply a new coating. Didn't go with the speckle since I work in there and already have enough problems finding dropped bolts.
