    Default romantic day trip

been pretty crazy with the kids lately, in a week or two i'm going to take a day off while the wife is home, and put our oldest in daycare for the day.. our 8 week-ish old baby will be with us so no fancy restaurants, but he'll sleep much of the time. can't leave any earlier than 8:30 and need to be home by 4:30 or so but looking for somerthing nice to do for the day.
thoughts are maybe a light hike (i'll have the baby carrier) to a beautiful spot with a picnic lunch (maybe peyto lake or waterton for something different).

any other ideas? a restaurant or something can be in the cards but since we'll have a baby with us it has to be somewhat casual.

Canmore area. Find a short hike, late lunch at crazyweed or iron goat, get her some wine, walk around town along policemans creek after if you are feeling energetic.

sorry I should have said.... I shouldnt expect people to know this, hahah.. but we do that often already. canmore is sort of over done for us. banff is a little more rare for us though so that could be good.

Personally, I'd go somewhere like Yoho (not that much further then Lake Louise). Go to Takkakaw falls, maybe a little trip up to Angel's Staircase falls and Point Lace Falls. Late lunch at Truffle Pig in Field

Or go look for larches around Lake Louise or Moraine lake. At least mid week it will be a little less nuts

    Saddleback is easy enough.

Edit. Do it sooner rather then later, Lake Louise (ski hill) got dumped on today...don't push your luck with snow!

Even a lap around Big Hill Springs is pretty nice in the fall, and saves you a couple hours in the car.

Not sure how the kid would handle it... But helicopter ride? They have different packages, but basically sight see with a glass or two of champagne... Possibly dropped in a remote location for a picnic lunch

Giving away a great hidden spot.
Or Glenbow Ranch has many paved paths down to the river.

Yeah regular price is pretty steep, but there is deals to be had. My brother ended up getting a deal on a package, him and his gf seemed to enjoy it

Edit: looks like there is an active groupon for a hiking one

Day hike in sunshine meadows if they aren't snowbound yet. So good in the fall.

What about driving the Highwood Pass? It is beautiful this time of year with all the changing colors. Stop along the way and have a picnic.

That's a great loop. The colours are amazing and you can stop for lunch at the Delta Lodge.
