It's all the little things on this build that make me love it, people just need to sit back and look at all the details. Unreal build

Thanks haha! Sadly not that though... I was visiting Scoot and started talking suspension with him so he was showing me his parts and some of the issues he sees with Quantum shocks. Suspension and chassis setup is actually a huge part of his skillset. He makes his own suspension setups including a hydraulic height adjustment system and has made uprights for a Koenigsegg, but he also does a lot of work in Super GT. I spent some time talking with him at D1GP the next day though and he introduced me to another rotary legend:

I did visit Aragosta to pay for my coilovers which was a very humbling experience but that's another story in itself.

This guy doesn't get parts overnighted from Japan.
He flies there himself and get them.

iirc he is a former F1 engineer, not sure which team though.

Meets the owner of Scoots then hangs out with the founder of RE Amemiya himself. Rotary bucket list complete! Lucky you man.

As someone who's into drag racing, that 128mph trap speed is wicket. That's MOVING. My 2008 Z06 trapped 125mph at sea level.

^^ Thanks. My friend grabbed a video of the pass. Car in the right lane is a longtube ZR1.

Some parts started to arrive so thought I'd share some progress. The main goal this winter is to re-wire the entire car. Last summer I had some pretty annoying issues courtesy of 2 heavily corroded relay boxes and one harness in the fender area being rubbed.

Of course, this kinda spiralled out of control. Removing all of the factory wiring left me with significant freedom to redesign and simplify many systems all over the car. At the end of all this, I hope to have the car back under 1100KG.

New ignition setup. The old one was working great, but this allows me to delete the ignitor and related wiring/mounting. It also freed up space on top of the keg to redo the fuel lines.

CJ rails with integrated FPD. Also changing out the primary injectors to the new ID1050X

Goodridge Kevlar and hardline. Some reasonable weight savings there through simplification of lines and bracketry.

Also got a SARD low temp thermostat and some Kemitec PG55RC coolant. Didn't have any issues at Castrol road course last year at 1.2 bar, but won't hurt

    car as it sits:

started working on the wiring. For pretty much everything, I'm using M22759/32 wire. It's pretty high quality stuff and helps keep down the weight and bulk of the longer parts of the harness. 22AWG M22759/32 vs 22AWG princess wire:

relocated the ProEFI to some newly available real estate

simplified door harness. I'm keeping power windows, mirrors, and door locks so liberating some of this stuff from the old harness was required.

While the dash was out, I decided to get rid of the dash flock. Picked up some Alcantara from CR Techniques and after a couple beers and some extra hands we got her done.

Door panels. These have been on for a while but I don't think I ever took a pic.

Had the dash bar re-plated while it was out.

Got the deal of a lifetime on the hood I've always wanted. I wasn't planning on buying this but it was too good to pass up.

I also converted every bulb in the car to LED. The current draw on them is so low that I'm able to run much smaller wiring to power them.

Then the really good stuff started to show up. AIM cluster, Motec PDM and keypad.

I'm just starting to install these parts now with the aim of having the car running again by the end of the month. The combo of the PDM, ProEFI, AIM, and keypad will greatly simplify the wiring of the car. Those items all run on a CANbus, meaning they can all share sensor and command data. For example, the PDM can pull coolant temp off the CAN as the ProEFI broadcasts it, and then using it's own logic programming, supply direct power to a rad fan. The keypad can broadcast a boost increase command to the ECU, which can then be read by the AIM cluster and displayed as a different I-boost setting. Pretty cool stuff imo.
