    Default City charter bs

Reading through this, calgary is looks like it could become a much bigger pain in the ass to live in. Among all of the changes, is the right for cities to determine their own speed limits...

Enable authority for components of the TSA that apply exclusively within city boundaries (below):
     Changes to the ‘default’
    speed limit on residential
    streets
     Back-in angled parking
     Variable speed limit signage
     Parking next to painted
    curbs
     Provide cities with greater
flexibility to address cyclist infrastructure and operational issues
 Allowing for parking fines to be increased.
 Allow cities to change the default maximum speed limits.
 Allow cities to distinguish between commercial trucking vehicles and municipal fleet vehicles.
Further, use the Transportation Policy and Planning Table as an avenue to raise necessary changes to the TSA with Alberta Transportation in a more streamlined way, and provide a mechanism for the Minister of Transportation to ensure implementation

Minus speed limits, this is all bylaw stuff anyways and should be handled by the city.

i don't see any issues with it

Aside from the fact that we don't trust the City of Calgary to set reasonable speed limits, I don't see how anyone can be upset about them having jurisdiction over these things. It all seems very reasonable.

This would likely lead to an additional city sales and or city fuel tax though.

    Well ya.

It's the new go to for a new tax. Shit, the NDP have spent millions of our money in their ludicrous propaganda advertising.
