    Congrats!

This is very true, networking is a must and it has worked for me many times. The person does not have to be a manager or director, you just need to sell yourself that you exist in the market and the people you networked with will keep you in mind.

Congrats! Funemployment was a riot for me too.

Glad to hear you're back in it to win it.

I'm working for a very large management consulting company, but would rather not go into more detail right now.

Been there (PwC), good experience but lots of expectations and egos. That said, a few years since I've been there and it is a nice name to have on the resume. Congrats and best of luck!

Landed a 3 month gig after 8 months of funemployment. Definitely took a wage hit too, but glad to be working, and working for what seems to be a good company (non O&G).

So apparently the clause is person specific. Some people get this clause and some people will get the clause that they can be called back.

Hear Smart laid off some recently. Also read this on MacRumours:

Gou also said that Smart Technologies, a Foxconn-controlled interactive display startup based in Canada, may move south of the border, after U.S. President Donald Trump signaled a possible renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Weird week at work. Was told we're shifting to 15 on 6 off schedule from M-F due to being at site, but also told because we dont have enough people to cover no one will be allowed to take any vacation days all year... pretty sure that's not allowed and going to need to be discussed.

Are you still getting the 6 days off?

I believe that any actual vacation is allowed to be subject to company approval

this seems really insane, but I'm not familiar with vacation and rotation gigs, because if you took 2 weeks off, wouldn't you essentially have 3 weeks off work?

The 6 days off is basically combining 3 weekends into one 6 day off stretch. But then to say were not allowed taking our entitled vacation days is fucked and pretty sure against alberta labour rules.

Well if I was in your shoes I would suck it up for now, not worth losing your job in this time hold off doing anything drastic IMO, better than getting layoff no?
