Default Omega Watch Service - Recomendations

Hey guys i figure there are a few watch guys on here with Omegas...

Where do you all take your pieces in for service? I am getting the 5 second tick of death on my DD quartz seamaster so it needs a new battery.

Debating between full service and just a battery replacement ( been ~5 years haha ).

I took it to J Vair last time around but remember them being a bit on the excessive side for cost ( yea yea yea, swiss watches pay to play I got it ).

Let me know what you all have to say!

I used to take mine to J. Vair. I felt they were pricey and they always ignored me when I walked in there.

I now have this guy deal with any issues with my Omegas or Rolex. Not local, but I wait until I'm out visiting family on the island then I drop them off.

You could wear a suit made of money and J Vair would still ignore you

There must be like 4 or 5 rich oil guys who buy so much product it keeps the place open and those are the only people they care about haha

Pretty much. Although I'm sure they could handle it I don't think Brinkhaus will touch an Omega? It's just a battery change I'm sure Justin would be more than capable of taking care of it.

I think Brinkhaus sells Omega, at least they used to. Got my wife a constellation there 3-4 years ago. I think.

Agreed though, for just the battery swap i think Justin would be able to. Would be interested in hearing if he can and the price to see if its worth just doing the full service at the same time ( I do wear it every day ). If he doesnt respond on here I'll give him a call.

    Thanks rx7_turbo2!

Brinkhaus no longer carries Omega, not sure if they're able to service watches.

Killramos, I can change the battery for you. Unless it was gaining or losing time before the watch stopped, I personally don't think it's necessary to service a quartz.

    I'll pm you!

I think I agree with you on the service Justin, its actually a crazy accurate watch as is. Battery will have it run for another 5.

    Thanks as always Justin!

Quartz is low-to-no maintenance. Justin will take care of that for you!

I take my omega watches to Alberta Time Service. They're in downtown in the +15 of the BMO building. Great service, well priced also

Do any of those watch service centers deal with the coaxial movements? Omega says that only they can do it and people trained by them, not sure if I believe that.

For my quartz and an FYI Justin was able to do a great job at a great price.

My Coax need full service in another couple years. I guess i will worry about that when the time comes.

Contact Archer Watches. Archer is active on the watchuseek forums and has direct access to Omega parts. Also sends you a DVD documenting the complete process with your watch. The downside is that he usually has backlog so you might have to wait a few months before sending in your watch.

I had my coaxial serviced by Archer and it came back perfect.

Bump. I was just at J vair getting my watch looked at. They fixed it no charge, super nice of them. I had a nice chat with the owner and he was more than helpful. I was dressed down, tattered jacket and jeans so I cant relate to your experiences.

I would go to them over calgary jewelry anyday.
