Just finished watching it. Kinda more of the same. Still enjoyable though.

Pretty classic - although the treasure hunt sideshow was a little low IQ for me. You knew they would never find anything of significance. I would have spent more time talking to the locals a bit, ie chat and put that on as a side show. Their customs and culture for eg. How a madagascar wedding would have gone for eg. (as Hamster blocked the road).

What they could easily do is an after show where they had the outtakes as well - in addition to some common questions about the location (dangers, etc.). Also they missed the chance to go see some really interesting ancient megalithic sites there (among other cool eco tourist spots).

Oh no! Was it?! I'll double check, but it showed up in my feed as 6 hours old. That's weird.
    Embarrassing...

Yes, that is definitely old. If I am remembering right, I think that was the intro episode to Grand Tour, but not sure. But definitely feels very familiar watching it.

That would make sense now based on the context of Jeremy departing London and the news stories faintly heard on the radio.
They must have re-uploaded it, this morning. I guess I never saw the first episode (or lots of them, actually). Bastards. It came from their official channel and everything.

All good! It was nice to watch it again regardless. I don't know why they canceled Grand Tour all together as I would have thought they had enough viewership to keep going. Should have been definitely much more popular than the original Top Gear with Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans. I've been watching that here and there on Prime and it just doesn't cut it as much as I like Matt.

Actual top gear is a lot better with the current hosts (Chris Harris, Paddy Mcguiness, Freddie Flintoff). Chris Evans is cunt, and the season with him was dreadful.

And yes, grand tour doesn't exist in the same way anymore because they were getting tired of doing it. They did it for 20 years, can't blame them.

Was Evans that nut-cluster with the stupid glasses? Sort of like safety glasses?
I would not wanting that show simply because of him. They should've made bigger news when he was gone.

Oh Evans leaves? I am on the first season with the new crew and I find him annoying as fuck. So if he's gone then I might enjoy the show more. I do like Matt.

But the biggest thing for me was/is that the original 3 blended so well with each other that it was clear that they were actually friends IRL, whereas any other crew they put together will always feel like colleagues/co-workers. That's why I think the new TG can never be the same as the original one for me.

And maybe it just doesn't have to be. That can be fine. I didn't need Anchorman-2 to be bigger, better, funnier, bester than Anchorman. I just needed it to be funny, and it fucking was.

I think a big issue, is that people watch Grand Tour or late season of Top Gear with their perspective based solely on the present. They forget that once upon a time those 3 were awkward guys figuring out their characters and their friendships. So we don't give a break to the new Top Gear hosts who are doing the same thing now.

Yes. And on a mostly unrelated note, his wife is an absolute rocket. Who'd have thunk it.
