Default What do you hate about CanadaPost (rips offs, etc)

I shipped a box with Canada post i dropped it off the post office (shoppers drug mart) the clerk yelled at me saying the box cant be branded fedex.

We know this is not true they of course are trying to sell boxes to me, the weird thing is:

millions of boxes are processed each year that are branded by different carriers each year

Its time Canadians take action against Canadapost

Also unlike the rest of the world, Canadapost does not allow first class mail packages, they force you to go small packet, if you want tracking its an extra $10 , a barcode already comes on the label saying "no delivery scan" but has a tracking number in a standard international format (S10 (UPU standard)) beginning in UR but we all know that almost all packages that go through sort facilities are automatically scanned, the scan probably goes to a file they only have access too.

I love Canada Post, our best shipping solution. I can't comprehend why someone would ship a Canada Post item in a competitors box.

If I reuse a box, I remove labels, or wrap it in paper, or duct tape the crap out of it.

Never had an issue. Only time I use UPS is if I have to have something overnight.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Agreed, I've had far greater problems with UPS than Canada Post.

The only reason i like Canada Post is because they don't ding me with custom fees when shipping USPS out of the US.

Otherwise the last 2 domestic packages i was waiting on from CP were delivered to different addresses

I like Canadapost. Haven't had any issues and always have gotten my packages. Been meaning to leave a Tims Gift Card in my community mail box for my mail carrier.

I hate CanadaPost. No "next day delivery", shit service, rarely is on time.

Purolator is the bees-knees. Also, CP's costs are awful.

+1, usually have the best luck with them

I also find USPS decent as long as the package stays West, if it comes up through New York I tend to have issues.

Purolator and Fedex are usually excellent. I had one issue with fedex with a package from UK, they decided I had to pick up the package from their office during their horrible hours. I picked it up and then I got a random bill in the mail weeks afterwards It had no instruction how to pay and was a pain in the ass.

I have a business account with CP and I don't think I would ever change. They have been very good to me!

I actually like FedEx, UPS, and Purolator - they NEVER give me any trouble, and have clear calculations for duties/brokerage available online for those cross boarder shipments. They also always make an effort to contact me upon delivery, and some of them even bring the heavier packages up to my door - fantastic.

Canada post, NEVER, not once in years and years will even bother to buzz my condo unit when they arrive with a package, they simply leave the notice on the front door of the building to blow away in the wind. Absolute bare minimum at all times.

I hate how every time I go to mail something (which is rare as fuck) my old ass stamps aren't the right amount so I have to buy ¢1 stamps, and I never have change so I'm either using a $20 or debit which makes me feel like an asshole. Life is such a nightmare

I buy a lot of stuff from China and about three months ago CP stopped tracking packages from there. My guess is that in a few months they will charge you a fee to see the tracking... I have to be nice to them only because they have my packages. Sometimes I get the notice in the mail box dated for the next day meaning I need to wait two days before picking it up. That pisses me off, the person at the post office; fuck I could go on forever forget it, I'm opening a beer and forgetting about CP, thanks for almost ruining me weekend.

I hate that you can't just call the post office. There's been times where the online tracking says "delivered", but I wanted to know where it was physically at. Lots of post offices don't have phone numbers.

Other than that, no problems. I have a community mailbox so it's handy to know that when something is delivered, it's either in the mailbox or at the post office, not sitting at my door for days at a time if I'm stuck working out of town unexpectedly.

I recently sent a car stereo to Manitoba and CP was significantly cheaper than UPS, Purolator and Fedex. I don't remember the exact dollars, but CP was less than half of what the others were.

Fedex, UPS, Purolator, any time those guys don't require a signature they drop the package on the step, maybe ring the doorbell or knock but maybe not, and then Usain Bolt back to the truck and they're gone. I hate that much more than anything CP does.

like someone else said, the bare minimum. don't bother to ring the door bell, just stick a notice on your door.

the last time, if I wouldn't have noticed a muddy thing sticking out of the dirt, I wouldn't have even known my package was ready.

I like the delivery people, I hate the outlet workers. They have absolutely no sense of urgency or customer service with a smile. Most are a bunch of grumpy assholes.
I actually had a delivery worker knock on my backyard gate cause she heard me back there and would rather I get my package than wait a day to go pick it up after 1pm.

    THE PRICES!!!
I sent a keyboard to usa it cost me 10 dollars.
I sent a small bag with some mechanical switches, 60 of them. Basically the smallest bubble mailer they provide, to edmonton. it cost 13 dollars.

blasphemy. doesn't help that the workers over exaggerate the weight and size of package either. You've really got to get into creating your own shipping labels and then dropping them off because going inside, waiting in the massive line ups to be beaked at by a disgruntled postal worker and paying exorbitant fees......just aint worth it.

I just hate that my mail carrier walks across my lawn to save 12 steps. Typical lazy un..... something or other.
