Is it out? Will wait for it to inevitably be 75% off with all expansions in a year or so like always.

I doubt it will run on my surface anyways, which is kind of the killer feature Civ 5 offers.

I have been playing Beyond Earth: Rising Tide for the last few days. I played BE when it first came out and was underwhelmed, but the RT expansion brings the game to where it needs to be. A lot of fun.

After playing Civ 5 for something around 150 hours, a change of scenery was nice.

Super stoked for 6, but like killramos, I think I'm going to wait a bit to see (A) what kind of DLC they release, and (B) what it sells for in a steam sale

I hope they make the AI somewhere close to reasonable in 6.

That will be the biggest thing i disliked about 5. After 3/4 through the game you can consider any semblence of an allegiance to be not worth the paper its written on and you better be building up your army to prepare for the inevitable line of tanks ready to roll up to your asshole. Oh and if you do that, you are obviously an aggressor who is going to use said army to invade everyone.

Agreed that civ has a special place in my heart, can't say it gets the most credit, but the number of hours I can sink into Civ is plain stupid. Civ 5 + Touch Screen surface tablet + Long flight = Heaven.

Too bad my surface has potato GPU and processing capabilities.

Mine is pre-loaded and ready to go. Played a final game of V last weekend so I ended up at ~145 hours

Can't wait to try this out. I am also hoping for improved AI like killramos.

I hope Surface Pro 5 have a Thunderbolt 3/USB 3.1 combo port, then a external GPU will be a reality.

Civ 4 with Hexagonal movement and stacked units would have been utopia for me.

Yea, a year on, I don't know how I feel about my surface. I feel like its already long in the tooth and its always been buggy as hell. Not sure I can really give it a solid recommendation. Honestly sometimes it just doesn't even turn on. That's windows for you, needs a full OS restore every 4 months just to be usable.

That is in comparison to my, only 500 dollar more expensive, macbook pro which lasted 8 years of continued usefulness even as a CAD machine, and at the end of the day would still turn on and be useful tomorrow if I dusted it off.

Depending on how good the new MBP's that are being previewing in the next week look I might have to pick one up in the new year as I might be needing a mobile computer as a more serious product rather than my surface which I bought as a toy.

I do agree that TB3 external graphics is the future, rumors that even Macs might be going that direction. The Razer Blade Stealth + Razer core looks downright amazing.

Tried it a bit. Some new mechanics so I need to figure out how they work. Presentation with the map is awesome though and performance seems to be great (At least in the early turns )

I am about 200 in now and doesn't really ever slow down. Obviously some turns take longer when people are at war, but I am very impressed with the performance. Based on the game, it seems like a good mix of IV and V. The only thing I am missing is diplomacy victory as world leader is my jam.

AI is far better, hate no unit stacking like in Endless Space/Legends.

Enjoying the abundance of history they left in the game.

So far religion and war mongering is my only confusion, what to do with missionary's and how to spread the word of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I'm turn 223ish now, I have gun powder and I'm nearly ready to kick the crap out of the Nords for whining about my war mongering.

I hate stacked units from IV because later game turns would take like 5 mins because of doom stacks with like a dozen units each. Makes it more strategic this way imo. I have war longer with Norway who declared war on my but it seems to be a much better diplomatic system and ai since V. I like also when they denounce you for the most part it shows why and the more detailed leader view is great.

Civ 5 the denouement seem to have been decided based on what the other leaders had for breakfast so it's good to hear they are at least justifying them now.

I haven't played very many games of civ 5 where having a USA style military capable of defending from any possible threat from any number of adversaries at any time wasn't a bare minimum requirement lol. Which is fine with me, because I really like boats

I guess most can now say Civ 5 wasn't all that great. It will be tough to beat Civ 4 but will give this new one a try.

Already people are crying about the cartoony artstyle. And no diplomatic victory? Really.
