Default What class license do you have?

So with TappCar in service, Uber coming in, as well as Ride Please coming soon (the ride share version of keys please), and Calgary's "safe" regulations requiring professional licensure I figured this poll is appropriate.

What amount of the population realistically has more than a 5?
    (I've excluded 6's for simplicity)

I figured our poll should be a little skewed since this is an enthusiasts forum... If you have more than a 5, care to post why?

(added brief descriptions for non-Alberta licenses to pick equivalencies)

My work needed a Class 3, not really, more of a political reason but requirements are requirements, so I got my class 2 which includes class 3,4,5 and bus. It was cheaper to get the class 2 than it is to get a class 3 at the time. Even got the Airbrakes endorsement as well.

Was reading up on Ride Please and they said you need 1, 2, or 4.
Apparently if you have a 3, you can only drive class 4 vehicles without passengers, whereas 1 and 2 have the professional designation.

I used to have my class 1 when i was a youngster. When I stopped hauling, I didn't bother with renewing my medical, so it got downgraded to a class 3 with my air endorsement.

+ 1 on GDL for life. Fuck the stupid upgrade tax.

I figure they will change the program one day and I'll get grandfathered in for free.

Doesn't GDL restrict you driving at night or carrying over a certain number of passengers? Also isn't it a zero tolerance alcohol policy??

Just the alcohol part. "Driving at night" is a class 7 restriction, and the passenger limit is "No more passengers than seatbelts"

Personally I don't drink and drive, period.

Not compelling reasons to drop a couple hundred bucks and waste an hour of my time.

If I ever had a real reason to reclass it would be one thing, but as far as I can tell its spending 200 bucks on literally nothing.

That's what friends and cabs are for. Personally i have always found the concept to be a slippery slope ( with alcohol being the lubricant)

Only reason I had my GDL taken off was work required me to. Had it for 6 years. But just standard class 56 here.

I also got mine off when work said you can't drive company vehicles with a GDL.

I've had more than 1 interaction where a cop has known that i have consumed alcohol and have GDL. So, no, I guess I am not worried.
