Default Honda specialist : Hu's or Paz automotive?

Looking for a good honest Honda mechanic. Through searching I've narrowed it down to hu's and paz. Has anyone been to both and if so why did you switch?

Would like to go to one mechanic without worrying about ripping me off. Went to two different mechanics both telling me different things for my odyssey.

    ^What he said.

I had recent work done by Paul on my X5M and he was great and very well priced. Definitely recommend him.

Have no idea about the names you mentioned.

My brother had a pre-purchase inspection done at hu garage a few years back when he bought a cr-v. Driver side headlight was out and he diagnosed it as having a bad headlight bulb only. Turns out something was wrong with the wiring. Not a big deal, but probably should have caught it during a pre-purchase inspection.

I've used Jackie at Balance Auto, and have no complaints. I take my Honda and Toyota to him

I am biased out of the 2 choices towards Paz....

The owner is an Ex-Honda tech and does amazing, efficient and most importantly honest work.

Looks like I can't go wrong with either of these, great to know on hand which ones are honest. It boggles my mind how two different shops can come to two very different repairs needed quotes, looking forward to dealing with an honest shop.

I had a well respected Beyond (multi-member endorsed) repair shop tell me the intermittent high pitched noise coming from the front area of my moving car was a serious transmission issue and it will need to be pulled. They had it on a hoist and took a test drive. Ended up taking it to Honda West for an oil change, they mentioned there was a small stone trapped in the brake area.

Always get a second and third opinion when it comes to expensive problems.

Hu did my brakes among other things, always at a better price than the dealer and with better parts. They also advised against spending more than needed for parts. I was wanting an overkill brake system, wasted money I was told.

Hu is a Honda Certified Tech I believe, his dad is old-school Honda with tales of Japan training in the 70's. Honda runs in their DNA.

Love these small local specialized shops.

Wow. Weak diagnosis. Toss it on a lift, in drive. Should be quick to find/hear.

Transmissions symptoms are usually not high pitched noise. Shifting issues, etc. Which usually is fluid (incorrect or low) which morphs into torque converter burnout.

I've recommended Paz to a few Honda owners in my family and it's now their go-to mechanic shop.

I can't comment on Hu's, never dealt with them before.

    +1 for Paz!

I wish I still owned a Honda as there seems to be great shops in town to take them to. Never tried Paz but really enjoyed the work from Paul when he was still at Speedtech, and Hu's is excellent as well.

I used to use Paz when I had Hondas, great experience there. He did the brakes on my old Integra for so cheap, it was hardly more than the cost of the parts if I was to buy them and do the work myself. Quick service, and honest, definitely recommend.

Never used Paz so can't comment.

Ive used Hu's as my standard Honda mechanic. He tells it as it is and the work has been great.
