the samsung ks8000 55" is on at best buy and visions for $1799. Went in last night looking for a tv for both me (55ks8000) and one for my dad (65ku6290, $1499).

Visions was willing to give the black friday pricing to us early, but would not budge on pricing. tried to get them to throw in the taxes and use the sale price as the out the door price. wouldnt budge. only way they would budge is with warranty purchase, and neither of us are interested in that. never used to have an issue with them throwing the taxes in, but doesnt appear to be the case anymore.

is that the case? went to best buy (rookie kid, but they couldnt do the early pricing) and went over to london drugs (always had great dealings and bargaining with them) and they said nope, not a chance on throwing in the taxes once black friday hits and basically laughed us out of the department.

Looks like i may end up ordering the ks8000 through b&h, cant beat saving another couple hundred bucks (covers most of the xbox one s for the 4k)

I bought the Sony X850D 55" 4k HDR set a short while ago, inlaw works at Best Buy in Regina (worked) and it was off the floor, so he bought it, and we bought it from him.

Replaced a 1080p 50" Sony that was only 2 years old, what a difference 2 years makes. It's not 120hz, not really, but I have ample 165 and 144hz gaming monitors when not using VR anyway. x850D streams 4k pretty well, I haven't tried any 4k media from the 4k Blu ray player yet though.

This set is usually found on sale for around $1500, and we got it for quite a bit less than that due to staff discount. If it shows up on Black Friday for 1200$ish I'd say it's a good deal.

It has a center stand as well, I HATE the sets that have the 2 corner stands, as it really limits what you can set your TV on, not many stands are wide enough, which means you essentially have to get a wall mount.

I saw this too but I thought it was The Brick?

    Very possible.

    Is this worth it?
The price is nothing special, it's been on sale for $999 before Black Friday.

I also think it's a 60Hz TV that gets to 120Hz artificially with their "clear motion" setting that looks awful when enabled.

It's an average TV that gets below average reviews.

It's a genuine 120hz tv but a couple of years old. Has old Tizen, only 2 hdmi ports etc. It has been as low as $850 previously

I have this TV and its great. As far as everything I've found its true 120Hz. And from the reviews I've seen its at least average, not below average. I'm quite satisfied with it.

Rtings gave it a 6.9 which is pretty low. Like all TV's, I'm sure it's fine outside a critical viewing environment. It's good if you just need a bare bones TV with an OK picture but there is nothing special about that price IMO.

The TV can only accept a 60Hz signal which I think is where the confusion is in the wording.

It is most definitely a 120hz panel. It just doesn't support 120hz on pc input.

I ended up with the Sony 55" 700d. I didn't want to spend much, and got a TV with pretty good reviews.

Well fairly underwhelming deals this far.

Costco.com was the only notable place with a 70" LG 4K for $1000.00, but they sold out fairly quickly.

Guess I'll have to wait to see what comes about for Boxing Day.

    Thanks for the post everyone.

Is that in the US? I've been in the market for a 70"+ TV for a while now but the prices are still quite high for something decent.

Yeah that's the US costc , they won't ship to Canada, but it's easy enough to have it shipped to Montana.
