No it's not, and fundamentally we're no closer than the first programmable "computer". AI is still just a glorified calculator with some sensors. There's no abstraction, and no reasoning.

Commander Data is a long way off, if such a thing is even possible at all.

I think the saving grace will be adoption. Just because it exists, does not mean it will be implemented as quick as possible.

Tell me when the transistor isn't the fundamental logic unit of a CPU. As long as it, AI is impossible.
