I started reading more about the Jeep truck, they're calling it the Scrambler now.

This thing looks badass. Could you imagine a Trackhawk Jeep truck?

The new Raptor looks amazing too. I saw one in white and was amazed at how big and tall it was stock.

But if the jeep is available in manual, I would take it in a heartbeat.

Definitely a distant cousin of the old Comanche.

True story - in 1997ish I walked onto the lot at Eastside Dodge and told the used car guy I was looking for a Jeep Comanche. He looked at me and asked what that was, I told him a small pick up. He told me I was wrong and that Jeep had never, ever built a truck. FFS, it had only been out of production for five or six years by that point. Stupid car salesmen.

The pic they used was an AEV brute, an aftermarket conversion on the JK. The new JL trucks look dorky in proportion from the spy shots I've seen.

I saw a Jeep Honcho today. Great Patina on the late 70's decals. Something like this:

Scroll down, there are some leaked photos. Should show up at the LA auto show.

There's an jeep scrambler on my block. Haven't seen a honcho in years. So sweet.

Guessing its some kind of Kit car/conversion that I see downtown every now and then? Some sort of XJ/TK (whatever) with the bed.

Thinking about it.. if this truck is fitted with a proper truck like transmission and beefed up to compete against the quarter ton trucks like the Canyon and Taco... yet can perform off-road tasks at the same level as the current Wrangler... I'd give it thumbs up.

But it should be able to payload better than 1200lbs and tow at least 5500
1000lb payload...is what other forums are saying.

2 dudes and some fuel and you have about 500lbs left for tongue weight, and you have a trailer with a gross weight of 3500lbs. So tent trailer, if you are lucky.

according to TFLTruck who went over things and had some documentation showed a 1650lbs payload and a max tow rating of ~7600 lbs.

I was going to say, there's no way they are building this as a truck, and not have it compete with the Canyonero and Ranger, both of which can tow 7000 lbs+

This thing is sick and if they can achieve the numbers like TFL claims they got a major winner here imo. Even if they dont get those higher payloads im sure it'll still do really good. With the amount of goodies you can get for the jeeps now i can only imagine how nice one of these could look done up

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

If it’s a lemon, and you can’t get Chrysler to do any warranty work... at least it should get wrangler resale prices vs any other of their products

Not even remotely a truck guy but that Mopar up one at the LA Show is turning me.

Will it have better on-road madders than the regular Jeep? This thing isn't for me, but I like that it exists. Trucks are cool, off roading is cool.
