    Default Headed back to K'auai!!

Booked a trip back to our favourite island for late April. Can't wait for a beach vacation!!

So I've been here before and am fairly familiar with the island. However, this time we are not taking the kids, we are going with another couple and are looking at doing a boat tour up the Na'Pali coast. Just wondering if anyone here has done one up there before?

We're researching online, but I thought I'd hit up you guys to see if there's any first hand experience.

Was just there a month ago, we took a sunset cruise through Capt Andy's. Overall great bang for the buck, ride up the coast was great, got good pictures, staff were very friendly, dinner was actually really good and they start serving booze for the ride back as soon as they turn around and they'll give you as much as you like haha.

If you're going late April I'll hop the waves aren't as bad, we knew they would be worse due to it being winter but plenty of folks got sea sick on the ride home.

Doors off helicopter tour is deadly if you're willing to fork over the $, but it's worth the money for the experience.

We booked both tours through Tom Barefoot website, no issues and saved us $.

Capt Andy's is the best NaPali sail. It's a $2M catamaran and the food was exceptional. It's also not crowded.

The Jack Harter doors off helicopter tour is the best thing on the entire island to do by a pretty big margin IMO, I have a long write-up about it somewhere.

ATV's on the Kipu ranch is pretty sweet too.

Use the rest of your time to hike and go for dinners

If you have any specific questions feel free to let me know.

Thanks for the heads up, guys. We plan to hike the first 2miles of Na'Pali coast on a separate day, it's one of my favourite things to do...and head up to the waterfalls. It will be our friends first time, so we're going to show them around a little (Queen's Bath, Luau's, etc).

Can't wait to get another Puka Dog and some Bubba's.

I'll look up that Na'Pali boat tour you mentioned. Thanks!!

    my favourite island as well!

the waterfalls is an extra 2 miles, it can get tricky as you have to cross the stream 2-3 times but well worth it. just make sure you bring enough food and water.

go hike up in waimea canyon too, there's some really nice hikes there with a nice view of the coast and canyon.

+1 on the jack harter open door tour as well, we did the morning one and it was great. do it in the afternoon to get more light through the napali coast.

Thanks. Yah, we've done the hike up to the falls on Na'Pali. Will be doing it again. I'll check out the Waimea canyan hikes.

I saw a video on facebook of a pretty awesome looking lazy river in Kauai. If I remember correctly, it uses old irrigation ditches from a sugar plantation. Maybe see if you can find that?
