I've accepted that the robots look stupid and clumsy, but I will not accept the shitty plots, characters and story-arcs. I'm surprised they even made a new one.

Because of China. Great misleading statement though If Hollywood wants to make movies for China, make movies for China. Americans will just put their money towards TV instead.Originally posted by blitz
The last 2 movies grossed over $1 billion each worldwide...

As for Transformer, it's a Michael Bay show, so a good plot/story would be a surprise bonus but not necessary or expected.

Meh.
... I'll probably still watch it though, just not a run out and see it in theaters.

I sat through the last one only to get bored and shut it off 15min before the end...didn't even care to watch the "finale" fight scenes. They're just plain bad, and I loved transformers as a kid. Not even nostalgia can save these for me.

I wish they knew that less is more. It could have been great series but they or HE(Bay) butchered it. Thankfully it is his last.
MICHAEL BAY FOR OSCAR!!!!

This is actually less about Michael Bay and more about Hasbro and marketing toys. If you didn't know, Hasbro is establishing their own cinematic universe much like how Marvel has built up there movie empire. The HCU will include toy franchises turning into movies like more GI Joe films, M.A.S.K., Visionaries, and of course, expanding the Transformers line further into it's own subset as what has been dubbed the Transformers Cinematic Universe. In fact, placeholders for tentative release dates have already been announced for Transformers 6 and 7 as Jun.8/18 and Jun.28/19 respectively. For reference:
HCU
TCU
But yes, money is money, regardless if it's China throwing money at the screen or someone else.
Shit, can't wait for Transformers and My Little Pony crossover in the HCU.Originally posted by Chiggles
