Anyone here insulate their garage doors?
Saw those r8 value kits from home Depot but it's only available in the states. Was wondering if anyone here has it installed and knows where to get them

Haven't seen anyone do this since 1988 when my grandma did it to her garage door.
Isn't your garage door insulated already? Good enough. More heat loss around the seams.
Buy some insulation and poly it to your door if you want.
How big is your door? I added foam insulation to my two smaller (9') doors for one winter, it worked OK (certainly better than uninsulated steel) but it was clearly far from perfect. I ended up just keeping an eye on Kijiji for some lightly used factory-insulated doors, got them for ~$200 each and installed them myself. Noticeably better than the foam stuff.
I've seen guy use FSK foil-faced duct wrap to insulate, it's fairly cheap for a given R-value if you can stand the look.
Also looking for insulating someone's garage door.
Where would one find the duct wrap? There's not really any good panels I could see on kijiji
I'd assume any HVAC supply place should carry it. Ecco Supply comes to mind, I've had good dealings with them in the past.Originally posted by HomespunLobster
