Install when pretty well. He showed up @ noon and drove away around 5pm!

He was able to move from where the original copper came in to a better place (since it was in our basement bathroom ceiling). He even went back to the CO to get a 10m fiber cable so I have some extra length to play with.

The tv boxes took forever to provision and we ended swamping out the PVR because he thought it was bad.

He spent most of the time on the phone with network support. They kept having to adjust the QOS. At first I had a 6/1 profile then 940/20 finally 940/944!

They forward our phone from Shaw for the next few days before they port the number so it's seamless which is nice as well.

I thought we were done @ 4 but he was in his truck having the network team check the services to make sure everything was good before he left.

After all that I haven't had time yet to put the router in bridge mode and swap everything from Shaw... maybe tonight!

I'll have to call them tomorrow too because I don't see any of the new service in mytelus and I need to link the Netfix accounts.
Awesome, sounds like you're pretty much up and running. That was a more complicated install than mine by the looks of things, but you got it done in a way shorter timeline haha.

So it sounds like the UDM Pro doesn't do multicast yet, so no go on having TV without the actiontec box.

The fuck no multicast? I guess that’s one way to fully break those pesky dhcp issues haha.

I think it doesn't support IGMP proxy? I'm really out of my depth here.

There is an mDNS setting - not sure if that is the same thing?

I had to crawl down this hole to get my chromecasts to work on a different vlan as my phone. It's still flaky AF with my samsung smart tvs.

Anyone know the Name/PS to get into the Telus Wifi Hub?

Can't seem to find anything on how to put it in bridge mode (LAN 1). All I can find is mostly older routers.

I saw a Telus forum post that my Netgear R7000 will do multicast so maybe I should just skip the hub altogether...

Apparently each 4k stream is about 15 Mbps. So, 100 simultaneous 4k streams.

I still think 3g mobile network is fast though, so clearly not the target market. Lol.

After the 1.5Gigabit 1-2, Telus is going for the groin by sueing Shaw over calling it’s non fibre network fibre. You know, kindof like what Telus did for tears before actually having FTTH.
