I don't wanna go full Gestalt here, but...

Firing someone only matters to a typical politician who can never ever admit making a mistake. In business people make mistakes all the time, and the true mark of a successful businesses person is how quickly they can learn from the mistakes and make changes to improve.

Also, people are nothing more than tools, and as the situation changes, different tools are required. Sticking with the same people too long can be disastrous.
Agree with most of what you said except trump isn’t a great example IMO. He keeps making business mistakes and not learning. Between 1990 and 2010 he bankrupted his companies 6 times?!?

Can claim that it wasn’t him personally I guess but that could also show his lack of ability to select a good team.

Edit: and to be clear I totally get that in those 6 cases the smartest business decision was to file for chapter 11, however that’s like cashing out of a poker game when you’ve just about lost everything. That may be the best decision at that point but it doesn’t mean you were smart and played your cards right to begin with.

I don't think Trump is an amazing businessman or the worlds best leader, but he's an actual businessman and a better leader than the person he ran against and the person who won in Canada, so he looks pretty great in comparison.

100% agreed with you. Just amazed to see that Trump’s pulled the wool over so many people’s eyes even up here.

Correct since he was the elected one, and not tillerson or banon its important that people that work for him are on the same page as him.

Democracy It works even when your crooked candidate loses.

Trump is the man that saved new york from becoming detroit. You don't become successful by surrounding yourself with peoole working against you.
The hallmark of any democracy is dismissing those who may disagree with you, right? That’s not something you’d see in a dictatorship or fascist state?

Dissent and democracy go together, and if you don’t believe that, you truly don’t believe in democracy or understand it. You’re a buffoon. It might be a good time to stop drinking the kool aid.

tough cocept. but imagine you get voted in to office becasue of you and your beliefs. you then higher people to carry out the vision you were elected for, and THEY disagree.

yes, they should be ingored. they are nobodies. you don't tolerat subordinate emplyees, or ones that push their own agenda. Imagine if police decided their own laws and procedures.

His net worth has gone up over the course of his life. Risk/reward. Maybe the risks weren't worth the reward, but whatever. Even after factoring in that he started with Daddy's money, he still has made quite a bit. As much as he claims? Maybe, maybe not, but hundreds of millions vs billions is a silly debate. The guy has done well regardless of what we think, and to act like we could do better when most here haven't even ran their own business is laughable.

Also, he didn't go bankrupt. Many people get RICH while bankrupting companies, look at the Sears debacle, the guy actually walked away with tons of cash.

Just because you don't like the way he does things, or like what he may view the metric of "success" as, doesn't mean he hasn't been successful. He's one of the most powerful men in the god damn world, and he is slowly delivering on an agenda that everyone has said would be impossible to deliver on (and likely in the end will be if the dem's get back in next election).

    Edit-
That doesn't mean I don't think he is a childish monkey that doesn't appear to have a lot of self control. I don't have any love for Trump, but my respect relative to other candidates (like Sanders and Clinton) is vastly higher. Not to say it is high, just higher relatively speaking.

Well... One could argue that Trump was forced into business. When you inherit that type of money, you can either continue trying to make more money, give it away, or buy and island and give a big middle finger to the rest of the world.

Mother fucking Trump.... why is he picking on Amazon!?

Fuck this meathead idiot, he is messing with my portfolio now
Bezos and Trump has been picking at each other since forever. This isn’t the first time Amazon stocks tanked because of Trump. Going to continue to be volatile under Trump administration.

Trump is smart and knows that amazon relies on handouts tax breaks and coporate welfare. No corporarion with such tax brakes has as many employees on food stamps.

NK is getting exactly what they want with Trump saying yes to meeting: China, SK, Japan, all wanting to talk to them. It's providing NK with the legitimacy it needs to try and dig out of its slump that it created for itself. I don't think NK cares about Trump at all, just wanted to rekindle things with China as a major trading partner again, since they are right there.

https://www.aol.com/article/news/201...rump/23398375/ I know its AOL, but still, NK is playing Trump like a fiddle.

A bit off topic, but regarding Amazon, their valuation is complete BS IMO. Next to Tesla there is no other company I'd rather hold a short position on right now. Amazon's creative accounting (that's putting it mildly), in addition to their Prime membership nonsense...and now the USPS stuff breaking...NO better time to get out of Amazon then right now IMO.

The way that Wall St and the market have turned a blind eye to how Amazon's valuation is determined, and its violations of GAAP, simply cannot last forever, and with Trump and Bezos putting the company in the crosshairs of the media what with the constant sparring...this BS they've gotten away with up until now simply can't last forever.

The CEO of one of the best performing funds I've been invested in for a number of years wrote a pretty accurate piece recently. Link below.

North korea is no threat and should enjoy the rights every other country does. Trump recognised the bs lies and crooks with an agenda, used his crazy to make talks happen. genius.

as for amazon. crooks surviving on tax subsidy and breaks, and food stamp wages.

trump knows whats up. overworked people on food stamps while the ceo becomes the richest man ont he world on there backs.

It's just a stupid strategy that's being played by Mueller to make trump feel comfortable enough to accept an interview with him. He can't charge a sitting president criminally (Hilary wasn't a president during investigation) so by that alone it's pretty obvious that Trump isn't a criminal target. Mueller wants to interview Trump to complete his report on Russia investigation in the hopes that there's enough information there to trigger an impeachment. The expectation is that in an interview, Trump will be Trump and say whatever the fuck he wants against the advice of his lawyers, and say something stupid that can be used against him, truth or not. Everyone saw through this strategy as soon as Mueller made that statement.

Like I said before, this investigation will end once Trump is out of office. It's just a dog and pony show that'll keep dragging on to keep the public perception that Trump and Russia are BFFs.

Trump is a genius ate his drunken kung fu. Keeping expectations so low, that he can literaly do anything becasue its expected of him. cheat? sure, it's trump. orgy with porn stars, big deal its just trump. but cant argue with his results at no new wars, recognizing syria for what it is and getting n korea talking to s korea, participating in olympics, china. unheard of.

these guys sort of get it. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opin...ticle37518954/
