I was involved in a case where I was the victim of a fraud that spanned nation wide and involved many people that received responses along the line of, "well you're number 947 in order of complaints. Might take 5-8 years until we get to it". And I am not exaggerating either. The evidence the victims accumulated was so clear cut someone could have closed the case in 1 hour. However the case was left hanging for so long the perpetrator had plenty of time to flee to a country where there was no extradition treaty. I find police useful in minor matters and useless in more serious matters. I would love for those in the force to comment. I'm sure they will cite budget matters as a problem creating a, 'throw your arms in the air" situation. (conclusion; police won't do shit)
I'll take a pass on this one as I do most of these topics these days, but that's not what I would have said because it's simply not the reason. It's a far more complicated and systemic issue than that.
