Cocoa $11,000 per ton.
That extra 5 cents is going to bankrupt you zenopsssssssssss.
Nenshi strikes again
That's *two* extra nickels. It still kind of matters for people who don't lose $915 million dollars and still eat steak every night.Originally posted by rvd

You can either believe money actually measures something, or its just some sort of voodoo magic, like the US president.
I blame Trump.

They have been raising fees for years with zero improvement in quality of service. Same old story. I'm back to driving now, I thought I could deal with transit but being constantly late for work was not an option, not to mention how unpleasant it is.
I try to use transit, I really do, and where I live, it seems like it should be no issue, but it's always a hassle.
Last time I went to catch the bus, I texted ahead of time to find the estimated arrival, was on track to get to the stop two minutes early, and the bus drove by at least a minutes before I made it to the stop. So, either it was three minutes early, which should be impossible, or it was seven minutes late. Either way, it wasn't going to work for me. I turned around and grabbed my car.

^ I have only taken it once so far this year and I feel like it took a part of my soul...
It honestly is plain old straight up the fucking worst.
Scariest part is the damn service is over 50% taxpayer subsidized at that full rate.

Nope, that's not me. I'm an international man of mystery who only shows face when things really get bad, which means I might have to make a few rounds this year. Very occasionally you might find me at Calgary coin, but even at that - its a twice of year type of thing.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
I miss the days when Zenops would have blamed Anders
What has happened to you? Do you even care anymore Zenops? DO YOU EVEN CARE???
Also... are you the guy in the blue shirt? And is the guy on the right from Beyond, or is his sign just a coincidence? These are the real questions I need answers to.

It probably gets the info from the same place as the CT App. It's an absolute joke. It's supposed to show you real time ETAs based on GPS and it's hilariously inaccurate. Like not even remotely close. It still just follows the schedules and tells you when the bus *should* be there, which is never when it *is* there, so it is 100% useless. I would be sitting at the train station, the countdown timer would reach zero, tell me the bus had come & gone, when it hadn't even arrived yet. Or it would say I had plenty of time to make the bus, and then like you I see it leaving in the distance. It's so inaccurate that I actually think the app developer is just f*cking with people. Better raise those fares thoughOriginally posted by ExtraSlow

I never even considered transit a reasonable alternative in Calgary, unless point A and point B were within walking distance of a train station. Just so unreliable. If they have to raise prices so they can raise the level of service, fine, but I doubt that's the case. Just have to cover the rising costs so they can continue to be mediocre. Doesn't bother me, I'll continue to never use them regardless
but $3-600 a month parking tho....

Mentality: I don't use it because it sucks; it sucks because nobody uses it so why would they invest more money into improving service.Originally posted by btimbit

End result: Everyone drives more, funding Notley's crazy vote-buying schemes
Plus gas, and wear & tear, that was always a tough sell for me. Now my heated parking is only $30/mth more than a monthly pass, I don't miss that part of working downtown.Originally posted by killramos

A few peak rush hour rides on CT during flu-season or when it's +30C outside might have you thinking that's a bargainOriginally posted by killramos

I don't disagree with you at all. And my past posting on the topic will reflect that.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt

I decided to be a little more zen about it and didn't even look at the schedule when I walked to the bus stop this morning. If you don't know when the bus is supposed to come, you can't be disappointed when you have to wait.

Just for fun.
Transit costs:
Calgary $3.25
Toronto $3.25
Vancouver $3.25
New York $2.75
LA $1.75
Chi town $2.25
Guess who has the worst network?
Does Calgary Transit still use paper transfers?
