Pleasant surprise. Ordered 8 days ago from Nantong. Arrived this morning. Couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the door to see the canada post milf delivering it.
Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew
Holy shit, I just got an order of screen protectors in the mail. Post dated Dec 20, 2017.
I just got a web cam. Post dated Dec 12 2017
Aliexpress; three of seven orders arrived within 8 days of ordering.
Bingo! This is what I was thinking. When I used to import office furniture dealing with customs in Vancouver was a nightmare. You could have one container clear in 2 days and the next one clear in 40. It was such a pain in the ass. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The estimated delivery time frame for my eBay orders seem to be pretty close. Made 3 separate orders in April and they all showed up within the last 2 weeks.
I placed an order with aliexpress for some fishing gear last year, rod got stuck in Canada due to a torn label so the vendor shipped me a second rod. Got that, and then the original came about two weeks later when Canada Post called me for an address.
Found out the vendor had a website and I could order for less than AliExpress. I placed an order last week for about $260 worth of stuff, got a 10% off coupon and then paid in AUS instead of USD so total order was supposed to be US$260 and I paid CDN$230. Free shipping over $100 and they shipped via UPS to boot.
They shipped last thursday and I received the package yesterday already. They threw in a free buff, nipper/nail-knot combo, baseball cap, and a sling tackle bag. Their customer service is insane and the gear is as good as anything here worth 2-3x the price.
I'd check the AliExpress vendors to see if they have a website the next time I order something. I'm a little shocked I was able to pay in AUS too, I thought for sure they would kill the order.
I've been buying from eBay almost as long as I've been on Beyond. There are times that things get lost, stopped by customs, or fake shipped but that was usually 1 in 10 or 20. In the last year I've had maybe 2 or 3 of the 15 things I've ordered show up. On top of that, I've noticed that the ebay shipping time windows are getting ridiculous. I literally just settled a paypal case this week for something ordered in April because he has the shipping window set so long.
It isn't a package theft issue as I have a superbox and get amazon stuff almost daily. I do remember reading that customs was either stupid delayed or inspecting more so that might be the issue. If customs inspects stuff and rejects it, do they tell you? Is this a new money scam hoping I forget to submit a claim? Am I just ordering random unlucky things?

The only thing I’ve noticed is that the shipments have been taking forever because of which I try to not order from China, Hong Kong anymore. I haven’t really had any issues with fake shipments or customs etc.
How long is forever? Am I eventually going to get a ton of stuff I've got refunds for? Haha. Example I ordered a GBA cartridge in April, replacement hard shell keyfobs in August, and a wifi cam in July. Nothing has shown. All from China. All the USA, Canada, Europe, etc stuff shows up no issue. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ordered something from eBay on Aug. 17 and it showed up in the mail from China on Oct. 4.
Ordered a part from eBay seller based in Latvia on Aug. 23 and it showed up on Sep. 10 in the mail.
Lately stuff shipped from China seems to show up within ~2 months for me. It use to be over 3 to 4+ months.
i have a had a few things recently come within 2 weeks, and a couple things which have taken literally 3 months, got something last week i had ordered in early July.

The problem is with Customs and how they don't trust China shipments... especially those coming China mail.
I ordered some items from ebay on Aug 1 and still haven't received them. I ordered other things through Aliexpress after Aug 1 and have received some of them already. It seems to be pretty random what customs allows quickly and what takes longer.
Seriously when you buy something select epacket or message the seller. It’s usually like a dollar or two more and it’ll arrive in 2 weeks every time.
When you buy $0.40 worth of resistors, thats a massive margin! Haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Actually had no idea about this. Good comment.

Epacket is considered express and has tracking and Canada post gets a tiny cut of the shipping fee so they actually process is fairly quickly versus free shipping where they seem to intentionally leave stuff for months. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
