Still over priced. Those Funko figure was still listed at $12 after discount. You were able to get them at $8 during boxing day at Bed Bath & Beyond.

Not at all. There is most certainly demand for this sort of thing, to this day most vinyl people still go to flea markets.

I believe turntables have been setting sales records lately. I know people who are nuts about this stuff.

I'm in my 50's and I don't. Got rid of all my vinyl in 2000.

Well wait, yeah I have my dad's old Rega turntable that I really should sell.
I have exactly 1 record, purchased to test the Rega after replacing the belt.

Call me old, I bought most of my music at A&A records. Who remembers them?
I used to work next door to them in a mall, and since there was open space between us we heard their music all day. Got most new releases on sale for $4.97 if I remember correctly.

There most certainly is a market, especially for audiophiles. Not saying it is a huge market necessarily, but there is a business case for it.

I would travel from Red Deer to Calgary to visit the HMV down town. They had hard to find punk rock albums that Id pay $50 for.

the thing is that a few years ago when it wasnt easy to find vinyls they were cheap. now every album is coming out on vinyl and they're crazy expensive.

I buy singles for scratching on my turntables and they are even harder to find. I can't imagine when I find the ones I want, how much they'll be.

I may venture into vinyl yet...

From what I keep reading on forums is that the quality of the vinyl material itself is nothing like it used to be. Time to buy a bunch of hard to find albums as an "investment" lol

Theres a huge market for vinyl. I am mid-late 20's and have been collecting for years and have about 400+ 12" with 2 turn tables.

Hmm, I bought kid a and amnesiac when they were both released, I think I paid $45 each. I've been collecting vinyl since 199 or 2000 and IME it's never been cheap...

Edit:. To be fair, kid a and amnesiac are imports. I think most North American records cost around 25 bucks back around 2000. I remember buying love and theft at a&b sound for around 25 or 30 bucks. Chinese Democracy (haha) was $35ish. Still, records have never been cheap, always more than CDs IME.

Once again, you're spouting off absolute bullshit about something you know nothing about. "Vinyl people" do not get their vinyl at flea markets. you need to get a job dude.

You're right, that isn't really what I met. I know a few people into vinyl. I was more saying that they get that shit from all over, seems up here, a great place to get it from is some of the stalls, that's all. Cool your jets bud
