Why no signals?

But Speedog, I'm surprised it took you this long to pay attention, signalling has been horrid in the city for well over a decade.

I tend to only signal if it will affect someone behind me, if I'm going into a turn lane with nobody right behind me I don't, and most times driving my BMW I don't unless I need to slow down to turn.

I've found when I do signal in my BMWs to switch lanes or similar, someone always tries to block me, but not in my wife's Denali.

So now it's only when I'm turning from a non dedicated turn lane, or someone is at an intersection waiting for me to cross but my intention is too turn. Otherwise it's a 1-3 flash when I do which is rare since I'm usually a good speed ahead of the idiot doing 10 under that I'm getting in front of .

This...no reason to sit there with your signal on IMHO. On top of this, a lot of dual turn lanes with the light trees & advance greens have dotted lines almost right up until the intersection, so people who sit there in a group with their signal on to turn in the turn-only lanes, other drivers have no clue if you want to move over to the other lane, or if you're just an idiot.

Same deal when people stay in the right-most lane at an intersection with a red light when they are driving through, and everyone behind them has their signal on to turn right, they ignore it and make you wait the full light duration before you can turn.

This is legit... I try and signal all the time when merging or lane changing and the dickheads will almost always stomp on the gas to close the gap so you can't get in front! That drives me nuts! Now I still signal but I don't wait. I just cut in European styles!

Half the people in this thread are part of the problem. If you're changing lanes doesn't matter if no one else is close turn your damn signal lights on.

Yes..I've noticed this as well and have had to adapt to the dick heads. So quick tap on my turn stalk (3 blinks) , mirror check and go.

Seriously? How the fuck does anyone else know where you are going? The centre lane you can exit at any of the exits, the outside lane you can get into ONLY to exit at the next exit. Using your signal also lets people wanting to enter the circle know they can do so as you are exiting- Someone needs to watch more BT in the morning...

I hate fuckers that don't signal in traffic circles. I live out of town and I used the circle at 22/8 a fair bit...traffic would move way faster if most people knew how to signal while in a circle and how to signal out.

Nah, I've noticed the signaling issue before but it's just the latest thing I busy myself while commuting. Sometimes I count burnt out headlights or burnt out streetlights or people with fogs on - just a thing I do.

I write these tickets more than I do speeding tickets... wrote two yesterday. Can't remember my last speeding ticket, to be honest. We are doing it, you just don't see it and really, you can't know most of the time why we have someone stopped so it may very well be for that very thing...

I don't even trust people that signal anymore in traffic circles. Almost got nailed in the Crowfoot one because some idiot signaled out, so I went in, near miss. Of course I get the horn and the finger because clearly I'm wrong.

NO trust of a signal, you yield to anyone in the circle... I trusted a signal once when I was 17.... cost me about $20k over my driving career, never again
