Yes, yes you can...but a lot of "bigger retailers" will not install them on a manual tranny...I know Autodream does with their compustars, and Visions as well...

There is a lil bit more safety wiring involved, just so it doesn't kick over while in gear and what have you...

It's not too muich more expensive. Most remote starters for manual transmissions require that the car be in a "ready" mode before it can start. So basically the ebrake has to be up and the car in neutral so that you can start it without the car jumping.

For most stick shift vehicles only two extra wires are usually required on install. E-brake wire and door pin switch wire. You have to set the vehicle each time you get out. You shut the vehicle off after you close the door. (Compustar does this for you automatically).

    Hope this helps!

If you are in the Calgary area, PM 12v. He installs manual car starters for the same price as automatic. They are kind of a hassle though, as you have to set it up in "ready mode" every time you leave your car. This involves lifting the handbrake, turning off your lights, and pushing 'start' on the remote, and then leaving your car.

Well compustar is already legal for installing in a manual tranny, so most retailers won't hold back and install it.

But if u choose something else like me (*Viper 791XV) u need to sign a waiver and all these other crap, and only certain ppl will do it. (*12V is the man)

I have remote start in my 5spd...frankly it's a pain unless your in a routine of going through the sequence before you get out of the car, and if you weren't planning on using it, and 5 hours later you change your mind you can't just tap the button like an auto.
Although if your in the habbit of doing it through winter it's perfectly fine.

the compustar's the most user friendly all you have to do is pull the e-brake, and get out with out touching the brake and the car shuts of when you close the door, it's really not an inconvenience at all. other systems work differently some you have to hit the start button before you get out, and then the car shuts off when you get out and close the door, (this is so that the starter knows you got out of the vehicle with the park brake on and the car in neutral).
