I heard a lady at the gas station yesterday explaining how she was not going to buy winter tires again cause she bought a set and then her car got rear ended 4 days later and the car was written off... Not sure how the two correlate to each other..

Probably rear ended by someone without winter tires too hahaha.

Man people have the dumbest justifications for not buying winter tires

That's the same person that would never choose 1,2,3,4,5,6 for their lotto numbers. They say, "Those numbers will never come up you idiot!"

    She stopped and they didn't?

As long as she's not at fault, I'm sure you are request new set as compensation.

Anyone else take their "summer car" to work this morning?

Not quite, but if my husband could get the motorbike across the street and the snow pack in front of the house, he'd have taken his bike today.

Tempting. Still a fair amount of ice one side streets that could lead to a bad situation...

    1X F150, 1X Civic.

Its usually a truck or econobox I find that are the worst.
    Makes sense.

    Truck - 4X4 so invincible

Econobox - Too cheap to buy winters

Maybe we'll still get the 2017 hail we dodged for the first summer in a long time

Coincidentally, the sun is out today in Vancouver, beautiful weather for the first time in days. Fingers crossed we don't have a month of straight rain after this.

I was RIDICULOUSLY tempted (and grumbled about it all the way to work in the winter beater), but there's no way in hell I would've been able to get it back into the garage - the alley is still straight ice

If tomorrow was a work day, I would have rocked the Jag. Our side streets are still pretty precarious as of this morning but I figure it must have melted down through today.

Been fish tailing my way out of my neighborhood the past two days, luckily I live in the flattest town in the world (Airdrie) and our developer finally brought in a plower today. Gonna be a good week, was so disappointed to park the Z for most of November, didn't get a proper good bye...

Baby'd the AMG out of the Alley today. Only got it stuck on the ice once but that was my own fault with the wheel all the way at lock.

Great success! Was a gorgeous day for a drive around town and out to Cochrane. I think the lowest the temp got on my dash was 6C on the way back in after dark.

Car actually handed the alley ice like a champ, locking diff was magic on pull away from a stop with 2 wheels on one side on ice test as well which I found impressive. Did way better on the Max Summers than the mustang on A/S's did on the exact same spot with the open diff earlier in the day.

Makes me far more confident on the option of tossing winters on it and dailying it in the future.
