Agreed, but if you can’t figure out the basic steps like equiping your vehicle properly you’re probably not going to figure out the rest. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm so confused. Are we hating on people who slow down during inclement weather now? I thought we were supposed to be hating on douchebags who fly past people during inclement weather.
I need to feel superior to someone, but not sure who now.

you can hate on me if it makes you feel better... drift weaving around cars today that just couldn't figure out how to drive more than 20km/hThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Edit-
How is it possible that as soon as I go to an empty section of parking lot for some fun on my lunch break, every random asshole decides to drive through that section even though it CLEARLY is not the most direct route to where they are going?? WHY?!This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I would say knowing how to be comfortable on the roads in any conditions is far more important than equipment on the vehicle. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Hour long commute this morning instead of 20 minutes because there was some light snow blowing across the bone dry pavement - hooray for all-seasons. Can't wait for the drive home today and in again tomorrow when it's actually going to be bad
Between the roads and construction took me almost an hour to go from Westbrook to Bridgeland ugh
I had no issues this morning but I was on the road at 6:30am. Going home today will be interesting though.
1hr 15 min commute from Airdrie today.
Highway was FINE aside from some blowing snow, yet people still manage to end up in the ditch. Its quite amazing really.
Are they all trucks and SUV's? Most people I know who don't think they need winter tires, it's because they have a 4X4 or AWD, because somehow that helps them stop better....This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That's usually what I see in the ditch or off the road - they feel invincible and don't equip their cars in line with how they drive.

People always say they see trucks or suvs in the ditch and from having had all sorts of different types of vehicles I can confirm trucks have worst stability in snow due to poor weight balance. But, according to statcan this is what was sold in Alberta in 2016:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Passenger cars: 47,733
Trucks: 175,918
It stands to reason there would be almost 4 times as many truck type vehicles in the ditch all else being equal.
Was genuinely impressed on my way to work today. There was barely anyone in the left lane. I drove Deerfoot from Glenmore to almost 17th ave and was the only one in that lane and pretty happy doing 105km/h passing everyone. There wasn't even anyone tailgating me.
Of course that ended around 17th when a White BMW X3 suddenly cut me off, drove 75, and kept their blinker on right up until Memorial (Triple O strikes again). After that though, it was smooth sailing.
I've been driving my Miata (on studded tires) around today and have found it hilarious out accelerating almost every SUV I've seen. Conditions are great if you have proper equipment and an ounce of skill.

1X F150, 1X Civic.
Its usually a truck or econobox I find that are the worst.
I heard a lady at the gas station yesterday explaining how she was not going to buy winter tires again cause she bought a set and then her car got rear ended 4 days later and the car was written off... Not sure how the two correlate to each other..
