What's wrong with "safety moments"? When I was working for an EPCM, I used to do them in the field and whenever I'm at HQ, I felt right at home.
Then again, you can only do paper cut for so long.

I once told a safety moment to our COO, SVP, and VP about my recently adopted kitty cat, making it a tale of awareness and applying it to my site. Fun stuff!

It's hard to say if its good or bad. Companies like CNRL led by Murray Edwards have made their nut by expanding and growing their companies at market bottoms, not at tops. So its a good sign in a sense from there.Originally posted by ExtraSlow
We bitch and moan when foreign companies buy our natural resources (remember Nexen and Talisman?) Why wouldn't we cheer when those same multinationals sell them back to us?
I know we're all pretty depressed about the political situation in this province and country, but let's have some perspective.
As the old guys at CNRL always told me, "the assets will end up in the hands of the lowest cost operator over time". Seems to be true for these two blockbuster transactions.
On the other hand, the global oil marketplace has changed. The last decade or so was simply about producing as many barrels as possible, because the market was rewarding top line growth. Now, the market is rewarding those companies who can keep costs low and improve margins, not topline growth. So for major global companies like Shell and Conoco who likely have a higher cost of capital then local companies, it makes sense for them to unload the higher cost projects in their portfolio and shift that capital to more economic and lower cost areas ( ie Permian).
So there are two different dynamics happening here...Cdn companies "doubling down" , which makes sense since the majority of their assets are here anyways. And global players leaving, as their money can be better spent elsewhere.
Cramer says he'd rather pay off debt than roll the dice on oil sands. Which means, it won't bounce back anytime soon.
Cramer is about as trustworthy as the onion for stock tips.

Does anyone know what happens if you submit an EI claim more than 4 weeks after the termination date?
Old company submitted an ROE that puts my last day of work a few weeks earlier than my termination letter is dated for and this puts me outside that 4 week window.
See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
Was laid off January of last year. This is my last week of EI. I've applied for school for the fall and will have to take out student loans if I get accepted.
Why the government is willing to pay some $20 million (last I read) per year for a company in Ontario to change our lightbulbs instead of giving unemployed people a shot at going back to school to get re-educated and working again, is beyond me. Even Ontario has such a program.
Lol safety moments. What a waste of fucking time.Originally posted by flipstah

I once told a safety moment to our COO, SVP, and VP about my recently adopted kitty cat regarding how she likes to ambush my legs from behind furniture while I'm walking around (leading into how its important to maintain an active awareness of your surroundings; in this instance I thought the coast was clear and failed to re-check my surroundings when I moved from one counter to another in the kitchen while cooking, leading to an ambush and a slip-trip incident).
One of my co-workers is on the company safety committee. They have a "safety moment" every meeting. His first one?Originally posted by XylathaneGTR

I asked my CM if there was someone hiding under his desk after some other guy dropped off his lunch....that took the guy 2 hours to get.
I think sometimes the things you say have to have good timing with the right people. this comment made him roar and he'll remember me for it.
