I have a A118C and the screen turns off after a few seconds, so not sure where you got that information.Originally posted by Speed_69
Does the A119 have the ability to turn off the screen after startup? I hate how the A118C doesn't have that ability.
Is amazon / best buy the best place to order the a119?
I've got my eye set on an A119S, however in the meantime I picked up a Vantrue N1 which was on sale yesterday.
i believe with the new firmware upgrade you can set the a119 to turn off the screen after x seconds or leave it always onOriginally posted by OTown

Bumping this one – Has anyone upgraded or bought a new one since this thread was active?
Have my eye on the A119 & A119S, but am definitely considering something like the Blackvue’s that do both front & back in-one.
Thanks!

I've got the blackvue DR470-2CH, no complaints. Good video, good night recording. Not the cheapest, but I like it.

Pretty good sale on for a dual channel today
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/produc...=&sku=10526801
I think I'm going to purchase this, thanks for the tip! Does anyone know if the parking mode will drain the battery? That's probably my only concern, although the feature seems very useful.Originally posted by jwslam

Just curious, how does the rear camera link up with the primary Cam? Wire or wireless?Originally posted by jwslam

look through the pics on bb's site, long microUSB cord. if you want wireless you may as well just buy 2 separate cams, would end up costing more or less the sameOriginally posted by tonytiger55

I believe you need this hard Wire kit if the box doesn't include it to function the parking mode so it don't drain your battery

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
That kit says it's for different models. I guess I'll have to double check with the BB employees. Thank you though.Originally posted by dj_rice

Lastly, any recommendations for places to do installation?
Lol. I'll do it for a few beers.Originally posted by Tej.S

Don't bother with the hardwire kit... pick up a cheap one at Princess auto, or I think I have a spare one I can sell you.
edit: ok maybe I'm wrong about not buying the hardwire kit. Since this camera seems to use some proprietary interfaces for its power supply, might not be so easy to string.

If you're still up for it, let me know hahaha. The 500d actually comes with a hardwiring kit. I'll try to see if it's a difficult install or not.Originally posted by jwslam

Also, Oops. Forgot to update my own thread.
I bought the one linked in my OP. Hardwired. Everything seems good so far. Not sure if the parking mode works at all though...
Is anyone using this one? http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/...10393542.aspx?
Looks okay but kinda pricey at $230?
Any other good budget options?
Put this in my gf's car a couple months ago. Everything's working great, no complaints. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
