She was 22, he was 18, his parents don't have an issue with anything. Assuming both are of the legal age to engage in such things, what is the problem? I'm almost 5.5 years older than my wife but we were both in our 20's when we started dating, hurts my pension though by having a wife younger than me.

I don't think position of power is a criteria in the US like it is in Canada, but I could be wrong. Although it is probably still a fireable offence if it's against school board policy.
