Default Bow Cycle Blue Light Sale

Figured I'd post this up in case anyone is looking for bikes / parts for the upcoming season.

    Bow Cycle Blue Light Sale

Lots of enduro bikes on sale, and a few decent deals on road bikes. Might pick up a new helmet as my current one is getting pretty sunfaded.

    Thanks!

For the uninitiated, how do the hourly specials work? Do people go hours early and hold onto the item until the right time? How early would I have to show up if I wanted a Thule?

From my experience, you go there early to stand in line. There may be multiple lines for different things. A person will ask you what you want and give you a tag. Say they only have 10 units of what you want and 10 tags are already given to the people in front of you. I guess you don't have to waste your time. Depending on the items, some people go there really early.

It's just that MSRP has very good margin lol. They can't get rid of old model without some decent incentive. I know my shop pretty good now and they give me similar discount on brand new stuff. Support your local shop and you'll be rewarded I guess.

lilmira answered most of your question - For some of the hot ticket items that don't have a time slot you'd be best off arriving a few hours before the store opens. They'll ask you what you're in line for (if it's a bike make sure you're 100% sure which size you want) and they'll give you a tag for that item. The hourly sales will have a lineup as well for each sale. I'm not entirely sure how it works with things like helmets though.

I was also eyeing up the Roubaix. Not sure I need more than 3 drop bar bikes though...

I was there for helmets last year, and it was same tag system. You get in the helmet line (inside the store), and they give you a tag for helmet model and size. Once the helmet hour starts, they start moving through the lineup. Helmets last year was a gong show, probably waited in line for like an hour plus.

Anyone have experience with the Norco Fluid? Looking at grabbing the 7.2 for a good trail riding/ light downhill bike.

IMHO just get a full suspension bike with 5-6" travel, especially if you are considering any sort of downhill or advanced trail riding. Geometry is so good these days they have most of the hard tail benefits with all the advantages of full suspension.

I need a platform hitch bike rack and eyeing to get the thule t2 pro. Based on you guys' experience with this event, are they pretty high demand? Should I get there early for a tag also? There's a newer version of the rack which is the xt, would it go on sale too do you guys think?(I guess I can ask the shop about that if newer models go on sale).

Their online chat is pretty solid, any questions I'd ask there.

The fluid might fit the bill - check to see how much they weigh though. Historically they've been heavy.

Oh yikes. So i need to know what model and sizes they have available before hand. That is good to know. Guess I will need to go there some time to try out some helmet sizing.

You can check out what they have available in the store the day of. I would go before helmet hour actually starts though and know what you want by the time you're in the helmet line.
