Seems like in my ward the anti-druh people are in for a vote split. Need some kind of "unite the anti-druh" movement and perhaps a UADP party?
It happens every vote, and it is the reason why electoral reform is the number one voting issue for me.

Problem is that until there are municipal political parties (which I hope doesn't happen), every person who throws their hat I to the ring thinks they're bringing something more special then the other contenders and most likely aren't willing to be a puppet for another master in a party system.

That said, I think the realignment of ward boundaries will probably work in Druh's favour - most likely a larger percentage of people in the new ward that see things the way she does.
    Will fuck off, again.

I'm still voting for anyone except Nenshi based solely on the facts that he supports bike lanes in terrible places (i.e. displace 99% of cars for 1% of riders), and he has accomplished absolutely zero improvement to transit.

Unfortunately I think he will still win another term because if too many people run against him, the votes get split too much between the anti-Nenshi voter opposition. Also his giant purple signs are everywhere.

I'm nothing short of embarrassed that I voted for him the first time around.

Hilariously enough, bike lanes and transit improvements are featured in that link above.

I don't necessarily want to vote for Nenshi, but no one else sticks out as someone I do want to vote for.

But I do know who I'm voting for in my ward.

Chabot was on CBC this morning. At first I thought I was listening to a Ken King interview because he was going on about how the new stadium is an absolute must for any city. Then CBC pressed him on if he would raise taxes on property owners and he didnt say no. He said he wanted to close the gap between commercial taxes and residential taxes saying the commercial needs to come down.

Famous Nenshi-ism. Only 1 vote when things go wrong. Champion of the people and dictator of council when they go right.

The fact that any educated adult could support him makes me cringe.

So his platform is about raising taxes? At least he's honest

I wonder if the CSEC is financially backing everyone except Nenshi? That would be hilarious.

They're backing Smith, Chabot is probably less for public money going to an arena than Nenshi is.

I guess no one wants my vote in Ward 12.

Haven't received anything in the mail from any of the candidates, don't have a clue who is running.

Don't care really. I'm fine with the status quo. Maybe fire whoever approves the Art spend.

To make up the gap in arena funding, I wonder why Nenshi just doesn't arrange an interest free loan from the City with a TBD payback to be done via donations from the public and offer a tax receipt to the donors..
