If he released this list before the election, it won't be an issue.

Smith is currently in hospital and won't be personally commenting on the campaign, according to the release, due to an accident that resulted in a "serious concussion."

Genuinely curious though. Who oversee's the list? I mean theoretically speaking, could they leave someone off the list but just spread their donation amount to multiple people under the "less than $100" list?

The Nenshi troll squad is out in full force, saying the Flames bankrolled him with "in-kind" donations so that's why they aren't on the list.

i can't remember how close the election was, but since the list is a big nothing-burger, i wonder if it would have possibly put him over the edge? i know a lot of people didn't vote for him strictly because they thought he was hiding something. hmmmmmmm

Odd that they aren't donators, but he refused to say that. Did he think he would get MORE votes if people thought they were donating to his campaign?

He has said that in hindsight he would have done it. At the time I think he assumed he would stand out by not bending to Nenshi's schoolyard tactics like "I showed my list show me yours".

Between that and making a hard line in the sand on a few major issues, I say he would have won.

    Too late now.

So Nenshi's election campaign has run almost a $40,000 deficit, as such I wonder who's left holding the bag here.

    Link to related news story.

Further to all if this, if Nenshi decides not to run in the next election then he has to clear that deficit although no time frame is given in the GOA documentation I found, link. So I guess his campaign keeps raising monies.
