Bill Smith sued for $2.2m in 2010.

Is someone just digging this shit up now?
Probably the same source that informed the CBC about the RBC collection.
I can eat more hot wings than you.

That’s what he has said and presented to businesses from the beginning, holding current taxes steady, and increasing at lower than the rate of inflation.

Out of curiosity, if by some chance Nenshi loses, do you have to find a new job?

He also said he would try to hit the goals of the Chamber of Commerce's desired tax-split.

Can't do that by holding taxes steady.

I'm confused, I was told I worked for a bike lobby group or something. If Nenshi loses I'd be busier than ever I'd imagine.

Another poll, this one by LRT on the Green (a green line advocacy group) has Nenshi up on Smith by 15 points.

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgar...mith-1.4350963

No margin of error provided as this poll targeted people who signed up for Green Line surveys and not representative of our population. As a guide, transit only ranks 2nd in terms of important issues behind taxes and fees.

Obviously you have access to who voted for which candidate in the poll, just curious if there's any brand new accounts that voted?

I don't have access to the data. At least, I don't know how to access it? Damn forum upgrade haha.
So apparently, there's a bug in vB4 where if the threads are merged and the poll post isn't the first post, the poll gets lost, so this poll will remain a secret forever (which is a good thing).

This is the kind of shit that makes you wonder, is he just grossly incompetent, or crooked, or both?

I have heard stories from some of his former clients about how bad he was as a lawyer.
Well to be fair, Nenshi was a terrible prof too at MRC.

Nobody's perfect, and it's unreasonable to expect perfection. You'll always be able to find something to nit pick to put down someone you don't like without looking at the big picture.

Well he was president of the PCAA, if that eases your mind...

Welcome to the world of the variable cost of sprawl, where things don't scale efficiently.
As I mentioned before, one of the first acts of Nenshi's council was to lift the ban on new communities that Bronco's council put in.

But again if you read my follow up comments. You have to look at the full picture and actually run the numbers. At the end of the day they can slash jobs all they want and that's not going to put more than a negligible amount back in your pockets.
What people would like to see is a stop to the large increases. A zero percent increase for one year would be nice even. No one is expecting a rollback.

Im a little frustrated with this election (as many) as its come down to a two horse race.. and you have to try and pick the best of the two or its a throw away vote, which is basically how we ended up with the NDP. Im sick of Nenshi and his antics... but not really thrilled with Smith. Do you simly vote for change or stick with teh deveil you do know?

Ive also had to try and quit twitter for the next week or two, way too many purple possee members talking shit.

"Smith has the Developers in his pocket!" -Nenshi has 5 or 6 major developer donations already.... on of which had an assasination attempt on his life. But yeah, Flames support would be worse.

Also this poll have Nenshi 15pts ahead and 70% of Calgarians don't want any more delay on green line.

But they did say the sample isn't random. So it could be like going into a church and ask everyone if they believe in Jesus.

To be fair, nothing much is going to change. The mayor is 1 vote, and the system is designed so that no 1 person can really fuck shit up. With that being said, after 2 terms, we can see that Nenshi was very good at convincing others towards his vision. Not perfect, as seen with the secondary suite issue over the years. Not sure if Smith can be that persuasive and in fact make changes.

All democracy election will always goes down to 2. But at least mayor is 1 of 15. So everyone can choose 2/15 to represent them in the city.

What's up with the average paying POS (me and you in the private sector), working to pay for Civil servants with outlandish pay, outlandish health care, and not ACCOUNTABLE.

    Oh wait,

I’m fairly certain I was phoned about this poll. It was an annoying process and I’m fairly certain you had to give your email address so I hung up.

The LRT on the green poll was email/online only. No phones.

Yes, they phone you, they ask if you have an email address, and then you were supposed to talk to a live person that would help you vote online by providing you with the correct answers.
