But mainstreet's poll broke down the results by age group, making that assumption innacurate...statistically...right?

If Nenshi loses, what’s next for him? Outgoing mayors typically end up in cushy BOD roles, and since businesses hate Nenshi I can’t see that happening.

Good point I missed that. But then again my point about who still stands. What kind of young person still owns a land line and/or isn't on the do not call list? And would bother to take time out of their day for some random survey? Probably (on average) the weird ones

Polling calls aren’t considered telemarketing calls and do not have to adhere to the DNC list in Canada.

With that said, the POTUS election proved that polling isn’t an exact science.

And with over a week to go, anything could happen to swing those numbers either direction.

LRT funding gets pulled if the tunnel section isn't done?

Ya think? That's not good government policy, that's NDP vote buying. Of COURSE the NDP transport minister would make that necessary.

And for the record, that money from the NDP comes from all Albertan tax payers, not just Calgary. So I hope Smith wins and cuts that shit short.

That's too bad you're right. Survey and research calls are exempt as long as they don't try to sell you anything.

Really too bad when you think about it. Pre-election polls are toxic in a way to democracy. Can influence sheeple to vote in a certain way.

The potus result was fully within the range of expected outcomes for the up to date polls.

Probably a teaching job somewhere. Or run for MLA/MP?

Or think tanks like Pembina Institute.

She's going to win AGAIN thanks to vote splitting. https://twitter.com/CommonSenseYYC/s...64842943963137

    from the article;
With few exceptions, the final round of public polling showed Clinton with a lead of 1 to 7 percentage points in the national popular vote

Clinton in fact won the popular vote by about 2 percentage points. Falling in line with the polls.

I guess I'm exaggerating how close the polls were to the result.

The polls didn't correctly pick the winner. However Nate silver did correctly point out ahead of time that the polls were indicating an unusually high degree of volatility and that would be key to a trump win if it were to happen.

Really that insane electoral college system creates volatility in close races.

If you hate Druh I'm not sure how much you'll like Alexander, to be honest.

This election is the first time I've ever been called for a poll. Too bad I missed the call and they started the poll on my VM.
