Julia Roberts could only wish to have tits as big as Nenshi's.

Credit where it's due, that was pretty funny.

That doesn't answer my question though. I mean the bike lanes costs are a drop in the bucket, so what would really be different (aside from not hearing a purple tweeting blabbermouth)?

Also, didn't you buy a rather high end house in an unfinished community? Did you not expect taxes to go up along with your investment?

So how is it that Nenshi is responsible for what some are complaining about in this thread and yet his is just one vote
Odd that my taxes haven't gone up nearly as much as othere's have, maybe it's the age of community that has a bigger effect on taxes?

Please note that I am neither pro or anti Nenshi but he does not have a veto on everything.

However, once Nenshi was in office, in the following years for 2010 and 2012, the tax hike was five times the rate of inflation, and then almost eight times the rate of inflation in 2013 (back when the city hiked property taxes by 13.1% with inflation at just 1.7%). Then they hit us with another 4.5% in property tax hikes for 2015, which was triple the average annual Statistics Canada inflation rate for the 2010-2014 period in Calgary.

All of this is resulting in a massive cumulative increase in taxes for home owners... Calgary has gone from one of the most reasonable cities for property taxes, to one of the most expense.

Meanwhile, utility rates for water, wastewater and drainage have gone up by double-digit percentages each year, ranging from 15.4 per cent to 27.8 per cent annually depending on the year and the particular charge.

    Mark Milke, is that you?

Reading beyond the the copypasta you just did, the actual City Of Calgary portion of residential property tax increases have only been around 3.5% annually (give or take .2%). As you said the Province is thirsty for money, anything beyond that is their doing, not the purple headed twitterer.

You'll also notice how massively sprawling Calgary has become since the time of "the most reasonable city for property taxes", which costs everyone living here, and of course because we're 21st century humans, people also demand more services these days. None of that has to do with Nenshi himself, these are all costs that Dr.No and Higgins would have had to deal with as well.

It's kind of sad that you have to plagiarize instead of using your own words, certainly it does mean there's a lot less value to what you say and especially so when the first response to your post picks your's apart so easily. You can do better, right?

Blinky at least had lots of council experience but in what world was Barb Higgins a 'good candidate?'

Does it? How does the value of what he's saying change when you find out it's plagiarized? Had he provided proper citation the message would become valuable again? It maybe lowers his credibility as a poster I guess, but the message seems equally valuable. Now whether it's of high or low value could be argued.

Someone already put holes in his provided stats, if you're going to spout off stats in an attempt to put the porky purpleness in a bad light, than at least make sure the stats are accurate.

Using this ridiculous logic Nenshi came up through the same system as Peter Lougheed, so he was obviously a better candidate than McIver... and Ralph Higgins.

Right, the value of the stats and message stand on their own and should be judged that way. The fact SF may have plagiarized them neither adds to nor takes away from their value, that's not what you claimed though.

Either way it's a sidetrack so I'm not sure why I care?
